No boris the wiim isn’t better…
Go get an ARCAM Solo Uno at $200.00 USD.
Much better sound… no screen, just a web interface that’s very basic.
They are not particularly good looking, IMHO, but functional.
It is, albeit for a bit more money.
For $200 it is an OK toy to use in a desktop setup and if only listening for vocal jazz. Of course for some people it is good enough.
Boris,
Get one… then you might learn something.
I mentioned it to a discord group. Another local guy picked it up and hasn’t stopped raving about it in his set up.
Its more than a toy. But it fills a niche. Not something for your main listening system.
Great for a dorm room , kid’s room or kitchen area.
It’s not particularly difficult to audition a cheap toy at a dealer. At least when dealers don’t have a problem with one auditioning even new and expensive geart. For you it might be a problem and you have to stick to used discards from the back room.
So, basically a toy.
I would recommend this one.
I would invest the extra €400 (for more power), and the amplifier has a basic room correction feature.
Or, the new preamplifier is even better. It also has room correction, of course.
I don’t want to speak ill of Mike, but it would also seem a bit thin to me.
That’s just my opinion.
Its $200 for an AIO.
Its being discontinued because at its normal price point it would be competing against the Eversolo Play.
There are other issues too… however based on sound and its limited feature set… its an excellent value at this price point.
That said… I don’t know of any dealer other than one in Chicago that is selling these at that price.
Others still list them for full retail which I wouldn’t recommend.
Its essentially the size of a large brick/paver and that includes the power supply (No wall warts of bricks)
Sound wise… its neutral/warm while the Ampapa/Douk/etc … tend to be bright.
And again… if you’re not in the US… its not going to be worth it.
As to the Nubert. 600 Euros is roughly $700 USD.
More than 3X the price.
I just quickly checked online and can’t find your good price.
Your friend’s is almost €90 cheaper.
Only on eBay, but for…
I don’t think Nuberts are easily available here, and for the money I’d rather get the NAD M33 then.
Even my office bookshelves ask for 50+W into 8Ohm amplifier power. It might work with my bedroom Mission setup which specs 25W-75W amp, but why would I want to downgrade from a PowerNode there?
MusicDIrect blows them out for $199.99 Best Buy had them for $153.99 but looks like at that price they did manage to sell all they had – it’s about as much as it is worth.
Which is a nice way to say “lacks treble” and something that a decent unit fixes, based on the speakers/room you are actually using, with PEQ and DRC.
For <$200 it is fine to keep in the basement and get warm and fuzzies because it is by a “high end” brand. Or, for extra $200 get a Wiim Ultra which is better in every respect and usable even in a more serious far-field environment.
The only place is here in the US (Chicago )
Music Direct, which BTW also sells HiFi Rose.
Hi Boris
Yes, sure.
Yes, that would be something for me (NAD
M33 V2 BLUOS STREAMING INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER).
I don’t know if Nubert ships to the States.
I posted it because Nubert still sells reasonably affordable hi-fi.
Since it’s a factory outlet, the prices remain fairly stable even for used equipment. Of course, they also sell through Amazon, but always directly from Nubert. Sure, they use all the marketplaces to sell. Although Nubert has also raised its prices. Here in stupid Germany, many people buy Nubert products, especially their speakers and subwoofers.
*Just found this:
No, Nubert doesn’t sell its products in the USA. Distribution is limited to Germany and the EU countries, with a focus on direct sales in Germany.
The comparison again…
We call them dust collectors…
Sorry Mike
Hmm… I took a look at it and I have to say, for such a small device, it has pretty good features!
It’s even Roon-ready.
Yup.
That’s the thing.
At full retail… not worthy of consideration.
But at this steep of a discount… something to think about if you live in the US.
Yeah, but that pore-amp you’ve posted (nuControl) is at NAD Masters or Lyngdorf integrated price level, and I am not sure if Nubert is that good (well, not something I can easily try out here anyway).
Hi Boris
Yes, a comparison is difficult. One is a preamplifier and the other an all-in-one.
I can only speak for myself:
If I were to start all-in-one again, and I didn’t know RoomPerfect (because it’s so easy once you understand everything), I would definitely choose the NAD M33 V2.
But since I know RoomPerfect, and as you said back then, that you don’t need much power because the crossover reduces the load on the amplifier, I would choose the TDAI-2210 today.
It was my mistake again to get something with more power (3400). Total nonsense, as you said back then, since the subwoofers are powered by their own amplifier.
If I had listened to you, I’d have a bit more money in my wallet.
And the appearance is almost irrelevant to me. The main thing is that the devices work reliably. Although I’m familiar with the industrial design of Lyndorf and NAD, they both look similar to me and are very simple.
I like the look of both.

Well, it’s a rather expensive pre-amp.
It’s a good option, too, although M10 is quite good as well and more reasonably priced.
They are usable, indeed. Lyngdorf may have a bit nicer build, fancier volume knobs (well, anything is better than 520’s buttons that tend to stick and risk blowing out your ears, or speakers, or both) and stuff. But then neither is a Burmester, and both are quite good for the price.
