After the last update

Hello,

i’m new here, and i was a very happy owner of a Rose RS 150 B.
Was, yes was, because the last update (end of november 21) was not good.

The was an update of the app, since the update the app hangs/stucks every now and then :frowning:
The app used to be perfect, not anymore.

Further on there are certain menu items that are not- or bad translated into english.
The “related music items” for instance, still in Korean,
or the word composert with a T?
or Netherland without the s, that’s real crappy.

The user radio channels won’t accept HTTPS links, only HTTP.
Thats really ridiculous.
Almost all online radio links are starting with HTTPS.
This is better and safer also…

And the most important, the update of the Rose RS150B.
It always showed the name of the song, now it’s showing the name of the file.
For example not “Silk Road” but “02-kitaro-silk road.flac”
The related music items list is also really strange, when i’m playing jazz, it shows a bunch of, complete not related, numbers. I cant hide this list either. :frowning:
It was far more logical to show the queue of the played album.
When i turn on the Rose, now everytime i’m presented with an inlogscreen.
I don’t want to log in, i just want to stream and listen to music from my NAS

Can you please give me the opportunity to roll back this update, everything was ok, but it now looks and behaves like a cheap Ali-express machine…

Sorry, but I had to say this.
I think it’s a shame, such a beautiful machine destroyed with bad software.

I am also very curious as to how other users experience this.

Hi Michi,
Just a quick question can you stream music from your nas to your Rose RS150B?
I’m a newbie here with the same unit it the RS150B picks up my nas but I cannot stream directly I have to add the music on the Rose then wait for it to be all scanned which takes long as I’ve got a lot of music on my Qnap.

  1. I will correct the typo.
  2. Can you post a screenshot of the part that is in Korean or that you think is awkward?
  3. The part where you played jazz and said strange numbers came out. Did you play your local musictracks?
  4. I will ask the HTTPS related content development team.
  5. Regarding the file name, only the title is displayed when a music file is scanned and played in RS250 > MUSIC > Album.
    When playing RS250 > Music > Folder > soundtrack, the full name of the file is displayed.

Hello,

Thank you about the screenshots, I will modify them.

About the FULL NAME of the files, check the answer above.
Regarding the FULL NAME of the file, you will see only the title when a music your music files are scanned and played in RS250 > MUSIC > Album.

When playing RS250 > Music > Folder > soundtrack, the full name of the file is displayed.

I added the samba link of my Synology

That’s right, but at first this was not the case.
With the previous software version i could navigate my maps on my NAS and i got the artist, and the name of the song…
I didn’t got the filename

I completely agree with you Michi. I also feel the sound quality has changed or degraded with version 4 of the firmware. I wish I could roll back to version 3.8.

Hi Michi,
I have enabled SMB on my Qnap but the RS150B don’t play it directly from my Qnap the RS150B has to scan my folders first for some reason.
I don’t understand why I must scan my files as my files are on my Qnap.

Hi @myearwood173,
That’s a bit strange, but RS150(B) does not scan really available DLNA servers on the network.
You need first to add explicitly the smb folders you want to scan. ==> Options/System settings/Library, then add each smb folder.
This would work.

Thanks yes that way does work however I don’t understand why I have to add my files to the RS150B data base.
I’ve never done with my last streamers.

Still a number of question are remaining:

1 Is it possible to rollback to firmware 3.8??

2 Why not just the name of the song instead of the whole file name? I find this very inconvenient because I have an SSD in my Rose and I always access the music through the directory (Rose Disk). In version 3.8 this was fine, in the new version I get the whole file name. Please leave this choice to the user!!

3 Why can’t you hide Rose Home, Settings and Rose Store?
There are “markings” above them to hide.
Again, leave this choice to the user, please …

First of all, I would like to thank ROSE for the opportunity to participate in a creative discussion.

Like Michi, I am not happy with the changes to the display of the names of files played from an SSD. Me and many people use SSD as a music base.

Clicking on a file should start playback immediately in full screen mode. Selecting the ALBUM tab should preview the files in the folder.

On the remote control, the list of album files should be shown on the ROSE display after pressing the button with three dashes.

This is normal and logical operation for many music file players.

The file name could be shown on the display if there is no information in the music file tag.

There should be no discomfort to use. Rather, I sincerely apologize.

When you press a song, it is possible to instantly play it full screen.
RS150 > Settings > Audio Settings > Song play options > One song add to a direct play
Or, select the play option you use most often.

For other parts, we will consider it so that usability can be improved.
