Not to go offtopic too much. The ‘digital remasters’ of the 90-ies were indeed crap. The best way to ruin the analog sound of vinyl, especially classical music. I already noticed soon that those LPs sounded muffled and lifeless.
However, modern LPs from digital (high-res) masters sound fenominal. Just 1 example I have Daft Punk - Random Access Memories on LP and in high-resolution 24-88 FLAC. Even with my Laiv Harmony the difference is not small. On vinyl the voices are eerily real as if present in the room. From FLAC it’s good hifi.
Michael Fremer once described it as the difference between ‘intimate human interaction’ and seeing others do the same on the monitor. He said it a bit less veiled
