Display not compatible at daylight

@Mcasd

I have not received any emails from you.

If you have another email address, for example a Gmail address, please try sending the email again to that address.

Mcasd,

This is such a pathetic thread. Document the failure.

Hello Eleven,

If you have nothing more to say than this, just don’t read it.

I have a problem that I would like to have solved and have at least described it in writing. Unfortunately, I cannot say why my emails (sent multiple times!) cannot be received in Korea.

Your post is ridiculous. What a waste of time.

“Lord, throw some brains down for Eleven.”

Best regards

Hi Rosehan,

I sent two emails. One with attachments (videos) and one without, asking you to let me know if it arrived. I only have the .gmx address and have never had any problems with my emails arriving.

Is my description here in the forum not clear enough? Is it that difficult to understand? We could also talk on the phone—would that be an option?

Thank you very much for your support.

Best regards

We here would all like to know what your problem is and for it to be resolved. It has been 10 days since you were asked to send an email with photos or videos. Just color me confused as to why this has not been successful, email with attachments is not exactly rocket science.

Yes, sending an email is not rocket science. Correct.

Therefore, I do not understand why my emails should not arrive.

However, I am a positive person and hope that this can be resolved in another way.

I have never sent emails that did not arrive. I also sent a standard email without an attachment. This is also supposed to have not arrived.

Best regards

Perhaps it is possible to post a picture here? That would at least give an impression of whether the display is actually too dark.

@Mcasd

I have read your message carefully.
Please also respond to the questions I asked above.

  1. Are you saying that even when the RD160 display brightness is set to the maximum level, the screen is still too dark to be visible?

  2. If the brightness is already set to the maximum and the display remains difficult to see during the daytime, unfortunately there is no other solution besides reducing the ambient light in the room (for example, by using curtains).

  3. To check the brightness setting, please try the following:
The RD160 has a DIMM button.
Pressing it will adjust the brightness in sequence from maximum to minimum.

Hello Rosehan,

I will answer the questions as thoroughly and in as much detail as possible

  1. Are you saying that even when the RD160 display brightness is set to the maximum level, the screen is still too dark to be visible?

The dimming function works only for the ring on the volume control and the 10 buttons on the left side. This is also described in the manual. Regardless of the setting (1–6) of the dimming function, there is no change in the central display.

    1. If the brightness is already set to the maximum and the display remains difficult to see during the daytime, unfortunately there is no other solution besides reducing the ambient light in the room (for example, by using curtains).

Does that mean I have to keep the room dark during the day? Unfortunately, that’s not the kind of solution I was hoping for. In that regard, I’m more than disappointed with the product.

  1. To check the brightness setting, please try the following:
The RD160 has a DIMM button.
Pressing it will adjust the brightness in sequence from maximum to minimum.

Of course, I’ve tried that several times—as described in point 1, dimming has no effect on the middle displays.

I uploaded a photo early in the evening (!), Email is unfortunately not working on your side…

In addition the situation in the evening…

Still hoping for a solution via an update

Greetings

Hi FrankP,

Thanks so much for the tip.

I should have thought of checking out the options here on the forum sooner.

Best regards

I have the same problem with my silver RD160. In daylight you can’t see details in the main display!

There should be a solution from Rose…

From what I can see, there really does seem to be something wrong with the display. You’re right—it looks way too dark. Here are some pictures of my RD160 in daylight. The display is clearly visible. All you have to do is zoom in on the image.

Hi Frank,

Thank you very much for your feedback and the photo. The lighting situation is a bit different for me. My windows aren’t just on the sides, but also on the wall opposite the device. When I turn on the very bright light in the evening, I can see the display clearly enough (similar to your situation). But when normal, bright daylight enters my room, unfortunately I can’t see a thing.

And that’s exactly the problem I have. As a technology leader, Rose must, in my opinion, ensure that a display is capable of guaranteeing readability under all circumstances. I don’t mean direct, full sunlight, but a display must be able to handle normal, diffused daylight. That’s why I expect the option to adjust the settings for both displays.

Best regards

Sweet Jesus…

If your display is clear and easy to read in bright (artificial) light – as you yourself mention – this isn’t a fault caused by the hardware or manufacturing. That’s exactly how it’s meant to be. If direct sunlight falls on the display, that’s not something Rose can fix. It’s down to the nature of the display, and it happens to me too when the sun shines directly on it. That’s normal and, for me, can’t be resolved due to the design.

Completely useless comment! :man_facepalming:

Hi Frank,

As I mentioned in previous posts, I obviously can’t expect everything to be perfectly legible when direct sunlight is shining on the display!

But when the sun isn’t shining directly on the display, it actually is!

So the issue is diffuse daylight, not direct sunlight on the display.

Dimming the display is—at least in my world—no more complex than an EUV lithography system. Technically, that should be easily doable.

That’s why I’m looking forward to a practical solution from Rose!

Best regards

Hello,

I feel exactly the same way—it doesn’t address the issue effectively.

Thank you very much for your support.

Hello,

I really appreciate your insightful post.

It’s very helpful, but in this matter I’d rather not pray—I’d prefer some support from Rose.

Best regards

Good luck with that. Might I suggest some window shades?

I was correct 5 days ago, this is a pathetic and useless thread, started by someone without an ounce of common sense. VIK and Bonte picked up on it right away.
