But they didn’t.
I’m for 99,9% convinced it has something to do with these fluctuations but sadly enough I can’t proof it.

Further update - after some initial confusion following the engineers update, the Hi-Fi Rose repair centre has apologised for the miss-communication and approved the replacement of both the audio board and screen which is great news. I will also take on the advice of Bitspeed above, and adopt the use of a voltage regulator - although I cant source the one Bitspeed uses from the UK - since getting the RS130 back, all is working perfectly - no issues to report…

Make sure you buy the right device.
It is not a power filter but a voltage regulator.
Regarding the sound, it has no impact on the sound quality.
At least not for my ears
