[Early Access] Ver 5.10.02 (Rose OS 5.10.02) SW Update Notice

The pre-out level settings are broken in the new Rose One app. My RS151 is set to 5000 mV, but the Rose One app reports 7000 mV. The Rose Connect Premium app correctly reports 5000 mV.

There are a lot of such errors and others because no one from Rose checked it, something was done and uploaded without any control or testing of the new application for a period of, for example, two months.

Could someone please tell me where I can find the DAC filter settings in the Earl version? There’s nothing under Audio Settings.

What is the purpose of RoseConnect One? Is it meant to replace RoseConnect and if so, why not just replace RoseConnect with RoseConnect One. Seems that multiple apps are just going to add to the confusion and there will be more bugs to fix.

On the one hand, this is confusing, but on the other, those using older devices can’t benefit from Rose Connect One, as it still has many flaws that people either don’t even realize they’re using, or they think this behavior is normal, when it isn’t. In short, there have to be two apps on the market because the newest one is still underdeveloped.

Other bugs in Rose Connect One:

  • Incorrect reading of output values on the tablet and smartphone compared to what’s on the device.
  • When accessing the remote control icon at the top of the app on the tablet, it’s not possible to select the device’s inputs and outputs from there; you have to do it in the app settings (gear wheel).
  • Several times, selecting the X-axis indicator instead of the Y-axis indicator happened.
  • Twice within 6 hours, the app froze so much that I had to quit completely.
  • Several times, an error occurred where, while in a song, pressing the “Back to Album” button redirects me to a completely different page.
  • When the song name is long, it’s better. The text doesn’t jump around, but after scrolling through the entire song, the song name pauses for a moment. It should smoothly transition to the next show of the same song, just like in the RCP app. It’s better now, as the song doesn’t jump around, but this needs to be fixed.
  • YouTube Rose seems to be working now, but it’s still slower.

All the anomalies are on a new Android 15 smartphone with 8 GB RAM. :slight_smile:
Please take action and fix all the anomalies that occur in the latest app. It’s strange that your IT staff doesn’t see this, or that no one tests it. Or rather, there should be someone who periodically tests all the features and checks if the app is working properly and reports any anomalies for improvement.

Kann man seine Favoriten in Rose Radio sortieren? Da finde ich leider keine Möglichkeit.

Another strange anomaly from today’s listening experience with the ROSE ONE app:

  • twice the app failed to transition from a song to the entire album, twice I had to completely close the app before it worked properly,
  • today, after entering the remote control option, where the icon is in the upper right corner, I could access the device’s inputs and outputs, whereas yesterday, as I mentioned earlier, it wasn’t possible. This is worse because it feels like the app has a “life of its own” because without any updates, sometimes this function works correctly, sometimes it doesn’t

    There’s a lot of work ahead of you to get this app working 100%.

Is it possible to sort my favorites in Rose Radio?

I’m using the early version, but I can’t find the option.

I would appreciate an answer to this question.

@Pernod
As far as I know, the only way to sort your radio stations is manually by using the Favourite option. To do this -

  1. Select a station you want to save.
  2. Press the “ star” icon on the right of the station to save it as a favourite.
  3. This station will then appear in your favourites list.
  4. Please note that subsequent stations you select will appear above the previous one you have selected so if, for example, you want to
    sort them A>Z, make sure you start with the station that begins with, say, Z and work you way up !
    Not exactly what you expect in the 21st century but it didn’t take me too long. Obviously, it depends on how many stations you want to sort !!

Thanks for your answer.

I’m having a similar issue with an iPad Pro 11-inch (M4). I press the three dots to try to get to track radio and the app closes or it doesn’t go to track radio.
I hope this can be fixed because I’m actually liking a lot about the new app. Now I’m keeping both which is not the way I want to operate my 150B.

I bit the bullet and downloaded EA. I can happily report that I have had no adverse issues since doing so, however I am a very ‘limited’ user as I only interact with media stored on the device, and primarily via app, not the onboard UI.

That said, the onboard UI seems more responsive in the new update, and typing in my passwords was less laggy than in the earlier version.

Also the navigation improvement in the Music Index is terrific. Adding those letters for quick taps to access that part of the index is huge for someone with 1,000 artists to choose from. That said, I still do not see an implementation of Album Artist anywhere, including metadata info on tracks, so there is still room for (considerable) improvement.

Also, I would not have expected the update to take 30 minutes. Granted, I am over a metered 5G connection, but I would suggest packaging the update better so that it makes clear that there are multiple components that may take 30 minutes, rather than 30 updates taking one minute each.

Lastly, having a full factory reset that wipes out all settings is a bit much. I cannot see why an upgrade requires this. Losing all playback history stings, but I cannot even imagine if I had configured a lot of the setup how I might feel. There has to be a better way.

My final verdict is that for the amount of time and effort that the update involved, the resulting improvements fall far short of what one would consider helpful.

Now, when pressing the three dots icon in Rose One, the menu always appears and everything works fine excepting the options of “returning to the album” and “adding to a playlist” where sometimes nothing happens.

@Alberto

Does the same issue occur even after deleting and reinstalling the RoseONE app?

@Rosehan I deleted the Rose One app several days ago and I reinstalled it on Tuesday and the problem remained. The issue happens with my Android 11 tablet and with my Android 15 phone.

@Alberto

Thank you for sharing the issue.
We haven’t been able to reproduce it on my end, so could you please provide a detailed reproduction scenario?

@ROSEHAN When pressing “return to the album” or “add to a playlist” in the three dots menu, sometimes Rose One does it and sometimes does it not. This happens with both my Android 11 tablet and my Android 15 phone. I have observed that when it does it not and I turn off the tablet or the phone and I turn on it again, it works fine for a while. Nothing similar to this has happened to me with Rose Connect Premium.
