Equalizer App implementation on RS 250 and 150B

Greetings,
I wanted to know if the implementation of the EQUALIZER APP, which is already present in the ROSE RS201e, is foreseen in the future.

In addition to this I wanted to know if there is the possibility on my ROSE RS250 to adjust the balance of the right and left channel.

Thank you

@Hunter

We are considering adding an equalizer to RS150 and RS250 as an option. We’ll let you know when the decision is made.
It is not possible to adjust the balance of the right and left channel for RS250. But I will let you know if it can be added.

Thank you

Hi, I would also like an EQ. function for my RS150. It is a shame that the flagship model in your range doesn’t at least have tone controls like the cheaper models…Or better still Dirac Live or some other type of room correction.

There are many inquiries from users to add equalizer function to RS150 and RS250.
Currently we are testing further under review.
Even if you feel uncomfortable while using it, please give us a little time.

Thank you

@ROSEHAN

If a little bass punch is added, 150 would be more than perfect. It surely lacks the punch.

@ROSEHAN

Is it possible to add more bands in the equalizer?
I would need something around 40-45Hz to reduce the bloated bass in my room.

Thank you.

Hello,

I’m sorry but we do not have plan for EQ update in near future yet.

hi, I wanted to ask if there is a particular reason that forces you not to implement the EQUALIZER on the Rose RS 150 B which, as we know, is the top of the range. I wondered if the reason was related to the type of internal DAC (Saber ES9038PRO) but then I saw that you also added it on the Rose RS 520 (same DAC) and also on the lower model RS 250 A so at this point I don’t really understand the reason….personally I find it too absurd that this function, much requested by users, is present on ALL models EXCEPT the TOP OF THE RANGE!….is the reason the stability of the system? (which would certainly be very important and a priority without any doubt) but I would like to receive your answer clarifying the reasoning. thank you very much ROSE and thank you for this fantastic product that with your continuous updates, implementations and improvements in my opinion DESTROYS all the competition!

Hello,

We understand that this may raise concerns. It’s related to our policy. RS150B is our flagship model that has been optimized for the highest sound quality possible, which is a source of pride for HIFIRose. We have chosen not to apply equalizer to the RS150B to ensure that our customers receive the best possible sound quality that we prepared with the utmost care.

However, we understand that some customers may disagree with our decision, and we respect their opinions. We acknowledge that there may be some who perceive our stance as stubborn, and we empathize with their sentiment. Although we are not currently planning to add EQ, we are open to modifying our plans if many customers feel that it is necessary. It is possible that we may have made a mistake in our thinking, and we appreciate any feedback we receive from our customers.

We appreciate the sincere interest shown in HiFi Rose, and we will continue to listen carefully to our customers’ opinions.

Thanks for the clear answer.

I sincerely hope that in the future the function will be integrated since some loudspeakers may require musical “corrections” for various reasons (To give you an example: An acquaintance of mine SOLD his RS150 because, although it had a great sound, he needed to BALANCE the level of the 2 channels (Perhaps also due to a defect of the Rose) but since this balancing function is not present, he deemed it appropriate to change the product.

Personally I am very satisfied with my RS 150 B and its stability (some bugs are present but nothing so important for now).

Thank you for your commitment ROSE and your always very efficient support!

Hi,
Is there possibility at least ad Tone control to RS150?
Best regards
Jyri

@Jyri

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
EQ will not be supported for the RS150 and RS150B models in the future. Please adjust it according to the amplifier you are using.
One of the biggest reasons is that RS150b is a high-end product. This is because we support EQ and do not want people to feel that the sound quality is degraded by using EQ.

Would buy one if it had EQ/tone control. So the top of the line is too good for EQ, but the lower tier so bad it needs it?

@alphalima

The reason the RS150 doesn’t support EQ has absolutely nothing to do with what you said.

Upon internal review, we decided not to add EQ to the RS150.

If we receive more requests for this information from customers in the future, we are willing to review it again.

I own an RS150B and this lack of an EQ issue is beyond frustrating. To assume every owner has the perfect listening space and is in no need of room correction is absurd. In my case, all that is needed is a slight push in the mid and even more subtle reduction in the bass (my Focal Sopra’s sit closer to the wall than I’d prefer, but space restrictions eliminate the possibility of advancing them further forward).
As previously stated on this message thread, to not have this EQ option available at the top end of the range is really short-sighted. Is there a reason the company is opting to not listen to what your customers are asking for?
And before I receive the comment, YES, I’m aware there is room correction software as well as components available such as the McIntosh MEN220 or MQ112 EQ. In my case, however, I don’t have the space nor am I looking to add an additional component to my current setup.
My friend in Chicago and another buddy in Miami have both traded in their 150B’s over the past 5 months because of this same issue. In all honesty, I’m looking to do the same and reaching out to TMR (The Music Room) to get a trade-in value for mine.
This is sad because I do actually love the unit itself. With the amount of money we put into our HiFi systems, however, I’m not interested in doing business with companies that don’t value the customer’s opinion. There are some incredible high-end alternatives out there and unfortunately HiFi Rose is unnecessarily losing potential AND existing customers to them. Such a shame.

Ive read all the questions about an equalizer for the RS150 and actually its quite simpel. If it lacks bass or something else you should check your setup. Add a subwoofer or use tonecontrols / balance on your amplifier. Same goes for roomcorrection or adding something like KODI. If a roseplayer has an eq app its probably because its an ampflifier as well. If you want to enhance sound do so with you amplifier or decide to get a ROON account and use that DSP. The various DAC settings add a little sound enhancement. But thats just minor.

Did none of you read the manual before buying it or compare functionallity to a Lumin or Aurender? That might manage expectations. Ever been on Lumin or Aurender forums…? None of these questions are being asked there. People stick to what the player offers because thats what they bought. The rose is ment as a high end AUDIO streamer and the beautifull screen with videoplayer is a nice extra if you want to use it. Ive never used it. Music is what i want from my rose and it does that perfectly. Ive got a simple Zidoo player in my HT setup from which i have different expectations than my 150B.

Because some support techs inhere take some questions or possible addons in account doesnt make them wizzards. Just because your car has a computer and display how many of you have asked your manufacturer if Tesla’s autopilot can be installed?

If hifi rose had a good software, roon will not be necessary. If you got 15 euro to spend every month good for you but not everyone can afford it, especially when you buy so expensive machines. Keep your stupid advice for yourself.

@Jimibxl

If a device like the RS150B is advertised as a networkstreamer one might expect software to work flawless. But what some of you wish are features to be implemented which are not on the device.

My advise is only as stupid as the questions or statement it answers. If you would have done a better job reading the manual and features of a device before you bought it there would be far less dissapointments.
