FIR interpolation phase filter

Hi,

I’m using Rose 150 (not B).
I hear differences when choosing different FIR filters. The super slow is great for high volumes where the sound isn’t too bright and is well balanced. However, in low volumes i feel like the sound isn’t open enough, changing the filter to a sharp roll off filter gets the sound very bright, too much in my taste.

Which FIR filter do you use …?
Is there a “house curve” available per each such filter ? Or more details / experience around this setting ?

Thanks

Meni .

Thanks for the very detailed response.
I’m using the 150 device with the AK4499 based DAC, to what degree is the information provided on each of the ESS filters applicable on my system ?

@Meni

The filters of RS150 and RS150B are not very different.
Please refer to the picture below.

Hello

I saw the picture you sent. This is an RS150 filter using the AKM4499 DAC chip. Please refer to the picture below.

Thanks, this is what I was looking for.
I’m using the super slow roll off, and most of the time it’s simply awesome.

Found more info here, for whoever finds and reads this thread in the future.

Do we have a graph or more information on the filters for the RD 160? I found the above info useful for my 150b, and wondering if we can get the same info for the the RD 160 - Thanks.

@37Below

Currently we do not have a separate post explaining the filter in graphical form for RD160.
I will forward this to the development team.
