@conrad Its been 18 days that you bought an Eversolo T8 (and no longer use the iiRS130). I hope you are still happy with the Eversolo T8. If so, can you elaborate about what you like best with the Eversolo T8. Anything you miss from the RS130.

I seen a few video reviews on Eversolo T8 ← I summarized what they said in the following comparison. (On March 11, 2026 I researched the internet & greatly expanded the Eversolo details.)

  • 10-band PEQ Precision Tuning
  • evotune™ Room Correction
  • JPlay Certified
  • Radio apps: Radio Paradise & TuneIn Radio
  • ROON Ready (as is, no special integration with T8’s UIF)
  • Streaming Service Apps (uses T8’s audio player; no T8 UIF integration) :

|Sound Quality|
Opinions vary:

  • One reviewer stated the Eversolo fails with the bass dynamic sounds.
  • @conrad said Sound Quality is better especially when connecting to my very high-end re-clocker, NAA & HQPlayer.

Let me know if there needs any changes/additions in the above comparison (I’ll update my post accordingly).

Unfortunately, I have not yet managed to sell my RS130.
Your, what looks like AI generated analysis, is pretty inaccurate, but hey-ho.

I cannot go back to RS130:
The sound quality of the T8 is better, especially when connecting to HQPlayer.
The whole user experience of using the T8 is way beyond what you get with the RS130.
The software is stable and updated much more frequently with new features.
Even though the screen is smaller it is far higher quality than the one on the RS130 - better contrast especially.
The GUI bling, meters and spectrum analysers, is really nice - so I don’t know why your list says the graphics are worse, lol

@conrad

Please fill in the blanks for a more positive comparison; On Eversolo T8, what are:

  • Playback:
  • Display Views:
  • Are the Streaming Services integrated with Eversolo’s UIF (e.g. when running a Streaming Service, is the UIF the same as that used by the service’s Connect UIF)
  • List the supported Streaming Services?
  • List any Additional Features/Functions
  • What are the key benefits to using Eversolo T8 (e.g., what can the user do on Eversolo T8 that RS130 doesn’t offer/support?)

Please answer the above so that the comparison is more reflective of the T8.
Express all the positives of Eversolo T8.

Also, what do you find is inaccurate ← I’ll update accordingly.

Thanks

Im sorry to burst your bubble, but the T8 most certainly does not have better sound quality. Most reviewers also state that. As for the rest, everyone has its own opinion on features and displays.

If you’re interested, I can confirm that the Shanling SMT1.3 also sounds better than the T8 and supports upsampling up to DSD512. The T8’s app is better, but other than that, there are no other differences. Try it out and then decide which you prefer.

Well. I have owned both the RS130 and T8 and I can categorically state that the T8 sounds better to me. I have a very revealing system and a very high-end re-clocker between the T8 and my DAC. The T8 seems to be happier there than my RS130 was. I also like HQPlayer and use NAA all the time now - something that is simply not possible on an RS130.

@conrad

Are you comparing Eversolo T8 (without NAA & HQPlayer) against RS130 sound?

If you are comparing Eversolo T8 with your very high-end re-clocker, NAA & HQPlayer against RS130 sound, then that’s comparing mandarin oranges against regular oranges.

Compare Eversolo T8 with your very high-end re-clocker, NAA & HQPlayer against RS130, an external 50 ohm clock & RD160 DAC sound? I am pretty certain RS130 with external clock & RD160 will win.

On a separate subject, I get the impression that Eversolo T8 has not fully integrated the Android apps with Eversolo’s UIF. Eversolo T8 is primarily like a Nvidia Shield streamer (except Eversolo T8 focuses on audio music & Nvidia Shield focuses on movies/tv-series) ← is this true?

Also, can Eversolo T8 execute Apple IOS Apps?

The RS130 plays in a superior league for construction and isolation, and technical reviews confirm that, as a pure transport, it offers a signal stability and electrical silence that the T8 cannot match.
The fact that you prefer the T8 seems to be more related to the flexibility of the software than to the intrinsic quality of the hardware

When utilizing the optical network SFP input on the Rose rs130, it’s deadly silent. The background is so black, it’s almost scary…
This makes it extremely transparent and “colorless”.
I know many audiophiles that prefer a certain “color”… That streamers, (as well as other components in the chair)…has a certain sound to them…
I prefer “as neutral as possible”, so I cannot begin to express how much I enjoy my RS130

This is simply laughable.

This is even more laughable, as a pure DDC with no analog output cannot and does not have any sound, or color, or anything else.

The added “sound” and “color” I’m referring to, is of course different kinds of added noise, which OF COURSE all electric HiFi-components add, regardless of being analog or digital !

If you were right, all streamers/DDC’s would sound exactly the same…
Then tell me:
What would then be the point of buying anything better than a 50$ Chi-Fi streamer ?!

Exactly, it’s a rare sensation: when a component literally disappears from the sound chain, leaving only the musical message, it means that it has achieved absolute transparency.
The Rose 130 doesn’t add that artificial warmth or high-frequency “sparkle” that many streamers use to sound more detailed.

Which, to anyone who had actually stayed awake even for a high school physics class, is utter nonsense.

Which (with a few exceptions of particularly bad “audiophile” garbage, like the stuff Uncle Paul is peddling) they do.

Winks do not exactly hide that you are desperately trying to justify spending way too much money. The only points would be build quality, software, looks, warranty, reliability and stuff like that. Of course looking around this forum, a $50 streamert might even be an improvement  A $300 Wiim, other than the screen, definitely is.

And it is quite precious when people with neither education nor brains first post something that would violate all known laws oh physics if it were even half true, then get offended when corrected, and end up running like headless children screaming for moderators and hiding posts. Because in their (rather limited) understanding it is not the lies they post that expose them as know-nothing clowns…

Grammophone,

I too love the sound of the HiFi Rose RS 130 especially when paired with the RD 160 DAC.

Then why the hell are you here, in this forum, in the first place…??!

It would be like me mocking people in a Ferrari-forum, stating that my Skoda “drives just as good as their idiotic Ferraris”:rofl::rofl:

I am with Boris, I can’t imagine the RS130 sounds different than the T8 if both connected to the same DAC, e.g. the RD160, and level matched. That is the real test, and I am not sure anyone here has performed it. That said, I will not tell people what they do and don’t hear.

An excellent choice, among other things, the two devices can be connected via SFP modules and fiber optics for USB audio. This galvanically isolates the two devices, blocking electrical noise and ensuring extremely clean data transmission.

Grammophone,

They are connected by SFP. I find that audibly improves the sound. I think that’s about as far as I’ll go since at my advanced age the part that is the limiting factor in my music experience is my cochlea which is not easily replaced!

So sorry, forgot to ask for your permission!

…annnd! To absolutely nobody’s surprise an audiophile comes yup with a car analogy and gets it completely wrong. Ferrari (not that anyone would ever let you anywhere near one!) has very meaningfully different specs than a Skoda. An RS130 (or a T8 for that matter) does not do anything that a $300 laptop would not do significantly better, and nothing meaningfully different for audio.
