Should add, yes, I was an exec.
Been both an exec as well as an IC when I was an FTE instead of consulting.
Been in sales too Boris… , an Angel investor too among other things.

Bonte if you ever worked in tech, you’d know that Caffeine is one of the basic food groups along w alcohol.
And the Yeti w ‘Basho Boy’ is actually ice water.
Yeah, sure. And I am actually Elon Muskrat.
Uh huh. And you are also Brin, Zuckerberg, and Gates in one person.
It’s sad that you can’t even see just how ridiculous you sound. Maybe you should find a new shrink.
No, I haven’t. I’m a gravedigger and always have to work nights. But caffeine and sugar don’t keep me awake. My internal clock wants me to sleep at night because when it gets dark, my body releases more of the hormone melatonin. Perhaps yours is already disrupted.
Speaking of alcohol:
You should really stay away from it!
Alcohol
is not buttermilk!
You’re losing this game, Mikey!
No Boris.
You’ve already lost.
You can’t even stay on topic.
You mock Kimber saying their cable design is bad, yet you don’t say why or really which cable.
Now Kimber doesn’t sell their wire in bulk. Their 12TC or their 8TC. I’ve found a company out of Cleveland that sells similar wire and at a decent price in bulk.
So yeah I could make my own cables using that configuration.
So you tell me what’s wrong w the 12TC or 8TC cable. (Other than the price.)
Of course you can’t stay on topic without harassing or insulting someone.
This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.
Boris you’re working awfully hard to get Rose to shut this conversation down again.
And you didn’t answer my question about Kimber’s cables and why they are wrong.
Again, you make statements, which are your opinions and do not back it up with facts.
So Boris… what’s wrong w 12TC or 8TC layouts?
Or using silver vs copper?
C’mon Boris man up! Answer the question.

You mock Kimber[/quote]
Mike, seriously now!
Don’t tell me you’d spend 4K money just to buy some cable. If so, then I’m in the wrong movie.
My speakers have rhodium terminals and my cable has 24k gold-plated hollow banana plugs. Do you think I’d hear angels sing if everything was rhodium-plated or 24k gold-plated?
First, I was wrong.
You can buy Kimber wire in bulk.
But very expensive.
@Bonte,
If you read my earlier reply, I wouldn’t spend $4K USD on a cable.
That doesn’t mean that they aren’t legit. Go price out the cost of silver wire. Not silver clad but actual silver. Not cheap. Then the connectors… etc…
And before I spent 4K on cables… I’d be spending a lot more on my speakers and gear. There’s a good 3 way speaker kit that sells for over $3.4K just for the drivers , and amp plates. Then you need to figure out what you want to spend on making the cabinet. Or if you want to extend the cabinet and add in a couple of PRs.
Of course there are other kits like Scan-Speak Ellipticor A50 which sells for over $10K just for the drivers.
Then you need to look at what you want to use to drive them… That’s going to up the price. The cost of the XO if not active?
So no, I wouldn’t do it. But that doesn’t mean that its snake oil.
Sorry Mikey, I read it and unfortunately forgot it again. Alzheimer’s sends its regards.
You avoided the caffeine but ate too much red meat. Hence the early onset of Alzheimer’s

Should joke about it though.
To answer a different question AsciiLabs ?sp?
I’m sure Rose are familiar with them.
What do you make of it. I also have Hicon connectors because they work with and are also installed by Sommer Cable, but that already screams for me to listen to the Moonlight Symphony.
There you go, it works with you after all. A little fun is a must. I love it.

You could stop bringing up just how sore your behind is after the spanking your got on ASR into every thread…
If you do not see what is wrong with charging the kind of money Kimber charges for a not very well-made cable that is somewhat more susceptible to noise than something designed by actual engineers, and does not have any advantages over what you could find in a dumpster bin behind Walmart, congratulations – you are a true audiophile!
You get to charge more for silver. Why don’t you tell us what is the benefit of using silver, other than for an audiophool to puff his cheeks and whisper that his cables are made of precious metals?
How about you provide a single fact to back up anything you’ve said here for the past fewc years?
Won’t happen though when everything you know came from watching some shill on youtube…
They are legit in the sense that they exist. And even conduct.
But they are still snake oil. Just like directional Ethernet cables are snake oil.
No idea.
I’d have to have it in hand before I’d say how good it is.

Boris,
I think you need to do a bit more homework on your hero Amir.
ASR is his kingdom and he likes to surround himself w sycophants like you.
@Bonte
I talked about his audio company where he has the US Distributorship for AsciLabs. If you google for it, you’ll come across some interesting threads including the one on his own site ASR.
Seems he pissed them off by complaining about it on his site to his flock.
There also seems to be some confusion about his being a dealer vs a distributor.
And before Boris gets his panties in a twist… Boris, this is the guy who’s got such a fragile ego, and bad manners… matching yours… that he can’t handle anyone who calls his ‘expertise’ into question.
You’ll fit in over there.
Which will allow us to have adult conversations here.
Or do you enjoy being a troll and getting topics shut down?
Tom, did you get new speakers? If I remember correctly, you used to have Klipsch. What made you move on from them?
Interesting choice going with Perlisten and those 16 cm drivers. Was there a specific reason for that? I’m asking because I know you like music with a dense, punchy low end, and when someone goes in that direction, it naturally raises the question why such relatively small woofers were chosen. Or are you dealing with room modes?
I’m quite familiar with Perlisten, both the R series and the S series. The S series really stands out and has very few competitors in its class, excellent speakers. But in the R series, there’s actually a lot of competition in that price range that many people don’t really talk about.
So I’m curious how you ended up choosing the Reference 7t specifically.
