Moonlight cable

Ok, we’ll leave the Off Topic stuff outside of this…

The place is called NextLevel or something like that…

The thing is that you can get better sounding gear for much less.
There’s Voxative in you neck of the woods. The drivers look interesting.

There is so much awesome stuff, but unfortunately, it’s too expensive for me.

I share that opinion!
Especially since I would never spend 500k on loudspeakers. If I had the money, I would rather build a nice house for my family and stretch out the rest, if there was anything left over, in good health.

“Just like directional Ethernet cables are a scam.” -

  • In audio, where we deal with alternating currents, the concept of a directional cable is a nonexistent physical process.

Go for it! :raising_hand_man:

Only Boris would believe a bidirectional cable to be directional.

After all, I showed him two ads for CAT 7 RJ45 cables which he claimed didn’t exist.

The problem is that Boris has to be the big guy in the room.
Never wrong.

Which is why he should hang out w his best bud Amir. They have a lot in common.

And Boris believes that since two capacitors both measure to be 3.3uF they should have the same sound.
(or to be more precise, that an XO with these caps in a circuit should produce the same sound.)

BTW… if you put a diode in the cable… it becomes directional… but we all know that’s not what you meant.

Since you like to look at speakers you can’t afford… here’s something you can afford.

CSS Audio – They sell premade , but the kits are fairly easy and straight forward.

Neil Blanchard Designs – He sells plans, but there are people and I think he’s starting to build flat packs. Really nice transmission lines design.

Since you’re in Europe…
Pearl Accoustics – These are under 9K EUR for the pair.

And while single driver transmission lines don’t really have a strong bass, IIRC you already have a pair of subs. I heard these at AXPONA last year. Very good sound. Although you could pick up drivers from
Cube Audio and build out a pair of TL speakers for less

Hi Mikey,

Please stop trotting out the same flawed arguments and examples over and over again!

There is no such thing as a pre-terminated Cat 7 cable designed for home use! If you find a Cat 7 cable available for purchase—and they are sold in abundance—it is actually fitted with Cat 6a connectors.

Why are you so convinced that these are genuine Cat 7 cables? Yes, the raw cable itself is indeed Cat 7; however, once terminated with connectors, it becomes a deceptive product. The reason is that if true Cat 7 connectors existed that were compatible with the RJ45 standard, we would have had proper, fully compliant Cat 7 home network cables a long time ago.

In other words: Cat 7 connectors + Cat 7 cable = Cat 7.

A pre-terminated Cat 7 cable, however, is a misrepresentation—because Cat 6a connectors are almost invariably used, given that true Cat 7 connectors are incompatible with the RJ45 standard!

Here are two examples.

And please read carefully!

You’re right its getting old along w Boris being a bore.

Its just a perfect example of how Boris, even when confronted w the facts still has to try to win an argument because he can’t say he was wrong and made a mistake.

Now I could pick on Boris by calling out that he was either an only child, or had an older sister.
Was a mama’s boy, not athletic or played sports. Picked on in school, and when given the chance, he became a bully.

Of course Boris will deny it. What else could he say? Or he’ll claim that I’m talking about myself as a way to deflect.

And this is getting old.
Along w you egging Boris on which feeds his ego.

So why don’t you give it a break?

I don’t like bullies and I don’t care for people who cheer them on.

Will add this.

So while you and Boris raise the point that CAT 7 cables w RJ45 shouldn’t exist, yet they do, shows that neither you nor Boris understand the IT industry or how the standards committees work.

The CAT 7 w RJ45 connectors exists because the market demanded it. It was customer driven not standards driven.

You would understand that if you worked in IT in Product Dev.

Didn’t you post yesterday that Boris is just “thin air” to you, and that he gets his arguments solely from AI?

Apparently not, otherwise you wouldn’t keep mentioning Boris. :hugs:

That will only lead to another ban from this forum category—because you know that Boris can really fire back.

You know I’m a funny guy, and whenever Boris comes out with those brilliantly clear analogies—the kind even I can understand—well, I just can’t help but chuckle. Besides, it never gets boring.

Don’t get me wrong—it’s strictly about the analogies. I just read along and have to smile, seeing as you publicly declared here that Boris means absolutely nothing to you—yet, apparently, that’s not actually the case.

Why don’t you just admit that Boris is smarter than you?

As the saying goes:
Showing your feelings isn’t a sign of weakness!

Lol… :joy: do you really think so?

The only strange thing is that he doesn’t do it to everyone here in the forum! That gives me something to think about :face_with_monocle:.

There must be a reason behind why he does that!
Have you perhaps ever considered that a lot of what you post might not actually align with what Boris could confirm?

But then again, I don’t know—and I’m certainly no psychotherapist, psychiatrist, or psychologist.

Bonte

You seem to think the two things are orthogonal when they aren’t.
And you can go back to see Boris’ posts and people’s complaints before I got here.

I’m just the one person who can dish it out and won’t take his shit.

But I have to wonder if Boris hates his Rose gear, why is he and you here? You hate on the RS520 and praise your Lyngdorf. If Rose is so bad, sell the rest and move on.

Oh, Mikey—now you’re getting a red card from me!

I never badmouthed the 520. On the contrary—back before you were even here—I repeatedly posted that I never experienced any hardware-related issues with my 520, and that the problems I (along with all the other forum members) did encounter were purely software-related. I also said that since I’ve been using Roon, the 520 is a good endpoint and I can also apply a little room calibration to the 520 via Roon.

So, actually, it was the exact opposite of what you claimed above.

Mikey, please don’t go down that road. If you’re going to take shots, aim carefully—don’t just spray and pray!
