Network Switch with SFP and external clock

Like I thought, you dont have any experience at all with the products we are discussing. If you think you can make brand conclusions on every brand without even having any experience with them, it’s just ridiculous. You don’t even have a real streamer or any experience with a real 2 channel system. If you do, describe the components on the 2 channel system, from streaming, power, cables, to speakers, and your thoughts with another reference system.

Every person ASR followers like you are arrogant bums. When you find one that actually owns or is familiar with a true 2 channel audio system, let’s talk. Until then, stay in the wiim forum or beginner home theater systems and headphone forums.

No, bumcycle is definitely a troll. No way someone that stupid and obnoxious in real life would survive into adulthood with his limbs intact!

I aswered your question. THe fact that you never heard of equipement I mentioned is not my fault. It is far more advanced from what you have. I can make conclusions based on my engeneering knowledge and expirience. Equipment which you have is not made by flatearthers, is made by engeneers. And you must respect people who make high end audio gear and hi end music production because they know better than you. Making false presumptions do not help you either.

Hello @Burle,

don’t bother. He blocked you long ago because he has no more arguments.

I am kind of curious though, studio grade equipment isn’t my thing, are there any real professional products that use SFPs and stuff? I looked at Trinnov, MOTU, RME, and the only SFP I could find was one for MADI, which of course isn’t applicable for home listening.

Those audio gear are not what we are discussing on this forum. Youre confusing high end 2 channel set up with other forms of audio, like lifestyle, home theater, multi channel, and headphone. Youre still a beginner in 2 channel, like Amir and other ASR guys. It’s totally different. When you get a set of serious 2 channel speakers and collect data from in-room response , then youre opinion will be taken more seriously. Right now, you literally have no idea or experience the subjects we are discussing.

I can see that you do not have a smallest clue what you are talking about. About in room response, few places in which I do work from time to time have special engineers coming every month to calibrate room response. And they are payed massive money for their expertise. So, stop taliking about me or you and let’s get back to the topic - can you explain to me what an clock ond the switch has to do with anudio clock, how they are related?

These days most popular connetion in studios is Dante. It is ordinary CAT5e network cable which interconnects all audio gear, over ordinary network switches, with capacity of 512 stereo channels of 192/32 resolution  Theoreticaly it can work over SPF and optic as ethernet is independent of cable medium, but you can find rarely something above CAT5e in studios.
But, I can assure you that Dante will come to home HiFi in next 10 years, not because is needed, it will come because it will provoke a need for new gear by audiophiles.

MADI is old thing plagued with problems with latency and jitter.

Yeah, pretty much what I thought, thanks.

You can’t answer my question. Describe your 2 channel system from power cord to streamer to speaker, your reference system for 2 channel . Obviously you don’t have so just give it a rest .

LOL, powercord. Really, this guy must be a troll…

The guy is in the studio and makes good videos.

everything about Dante

Activate the translator (then you can hear if he knows what he’s talking about)

:v:t2:

Why should I do that? It is irellevant to our topic.

Thank you, interesting video… I will check video next days, today I have to travel 600 kilometers… I do understand Deutsch, but I am little rusty for writing on German. Whole life I rent apartments to German people

There is a whole market for audio video over IP (AV over IP) in the professional range. Almost all equipment uses fiber optic connections and SFPs.
Here are some examples:

Fully agree stacking 2 of SOTM snH-10G switches, interconnected with SFP offers lot lot more sound resolution. This is a gamechanger to listening, i had a nice offer for my 2nd SOTM some days ago, so i couldn‘t resist. Both feeded by Mutec Ref10 Nano, for everybody who is interested or specualte to this or similar setup, i strongly recommend.
Further side advantage is a even better video picture out of my AppleTV4K, which i would not believe before its possible.

I am using the LHY/Vinshine SW10-Pro switch through its isolated SFP to feed my 130. The switch also has a square wave 50 ohm clock output to the 130. Noise from that clock is -113.5 db at 1hz, and -142 at 10hz. In turn, the switch is connected to the SFP+ port of an Asus BE88 router. The house is on a 2 gig fiber service from Frontier, but Frontier converts fiber to ethernet in home and that’s the input into the Asus router.

The 130 has never sounded better. Its backgrounds are inky black, piano decays last forever, and the soundstage is wide and deep to the corners. I liked the Ether Regen, but doubling isolation via fiber optic lines, and the better clock really helps this unit breathe. Also, I went with the RSA720 optical usb hub, again connected with fiber to the 130, and run usb off the hub into my DAC.

I have yet to see any downside to more fiber in the audio diet.
