Thank you for your replies.
This is an important feature for those, like me, who use the analogue input to connect the FRONT outputs of a home theater amplifier.
The RS151’s pre-out outputs go to a power amplifier.
On this analogue input, you have to set the volume to 80 to get a sufficient listening level, and it’s the home theater amplifier that controls the volume, as there is no home theater bypass mode on the
RS151, which is a real shame as rival products do have one, and it’s a barrier to sales of the Rose for anyone with a hybrid hi-fi/home theater system, and I know plenty of such people, particularly on the
homecinema-fr.com forum
So, as the volume is set to 80 after watching a movie in the evening, if the next day I want to listen to hi-fi music and forget to turn the volume back down to 40, there’s a high risk of damaging the speakers.
I was pleased to see the start-up volume feature implemented, but unfortunately it’s pointless as 98 per cent of people put the device into standby.
It will therefore only work when the Rose comes out of a complete shutdown.
Thank you.
