[Official] SW Ver 5.9 (Rose OS 5.9.07) Software Release

After 183 posts on this thread I can’t remember if you had problems with the update on your 130, GB. I have found on my 130 that the update largely fixed my problems with playback continuity. I have learned not to expect perfection, so I am satisfied thus far.

Fingers crossed.

SiYou are satisfied with the changes so much the better

If you look back many complain about the degraded audio rendering which is the main thing for me. It’s deplorable to have no answers to our requests

I can’t confirm the poor audio quality after the update. However, my device is an RS-250, which has an ESS 9038 Q2M chip.
Is it possible that only the latest generation devices with a 9039 PRO and 9038 PRO chip are affected?

No because the Rs130 without DAC are also concerned!!

In fact, they put the 5.9.07 version into production without putting it into beta testing first with an Early Access version… that’s also very curious.

Okay, then the problem probably lies before the DAC on some devices. I’m convinced the ROSE team is already working on it and a solution will be available soon. There was also a weekend in Korea where no work was done, so give them some time. Everything will be fine!

Yes, the Early Access version 5.8b corresponds to 5.9.02, it includes in particular Qobuz Connect

It was mentioned that changes were made to the analog inputs/outputs with the update. I have the 130 and 160 connected via a digital XLR cable, and I have NOT noticed any deterioration in sound quality.

Colleagues, here is the answer from Rose’s employee in a private email

“We did not make any updates to the sound quality or DAC in this update.”

I’m trying to work what your saying out because I brought the rs151 before update and you couldn’t chose output if you wanted one they were both on

Well I’ve just spent a couple of hours listening to my 151 and to be honest can’t tell if there is a difference in sound. The only thing I seem to have to turn amp up a bit more to get the same level I listen at

In my case, on the RS130 (connected via Amphenol SFP) to the RD160, it’s so obvious.
Last night, I went back to 5.8 beta, but what a difference!!! What a pleasure again!!! We can’t call it a small, inaudible difference or audiophile whims… Yet before going back to 5.8, I did two hard resets, the sound was still flat, without meat on the bones and very incisive, too much…
In short, if Hifi Rose says they haven’t changed anything, they’re either being dishonest or stupid.

Indeed Patrice, exactly the same feeling with the RS130 and after installing the Update I also did a Factory reset

The return to the Early Access version is more than beneficial. I don’t know how they can claim they didn’t touch the sound!!

Last year there was a crash during an update of the Rd 160, they had been forced to make a correction

Once you’ve setup this compulsory pin number, is it possible to remove it later in the settings? Or is it always going to be there?

Of course he will always be there

I had the same experience when I listened to the Rose RS 151 in audio stores before the latest update. All outputs were also marked on the display, which doesn’t change the fact that it shouldn’t be like that, unless they’ve done something to make it look that way. But I haven’t seen this in streamers from other manufacturers.

When you turn the device off, does the update notification appear every time? Or does it disappear after you do it once, even though it’s been woken from standby?

I understand that if the device is completely unplugged, the update notification reappears when you turn it back on?

In fact, starting from an E.A. firmware there is no window requesting an update to a higher version since it is a test version.

That’s the point of this type of rollback.
I haven’t updated and am still on Production version 5.9.02. I get a prompt window asking me to switch to the new production version every time I wake up from sleep mode. In addition, the cursor is set to “Yes” by default.

I bypassed the appearance of this window in the startup sequence of my Logitech Harmony Elite activity.

So, even though this software is a beta version, a message appears informing you that a new software update is available? And this message appears every time the device is turned on from sleep mode. Am I understanding this correctly?
