[Official] SW Ver 5.9 (Rose OS 5.9.07) Software Release

When you turn the device off, does the update notification appear every time? Or does it disappear after you do it once, even though it’s been woken from standby?

I understand that if the device is completely unplugged, the update notification reappears when you turn it back on?

In fact, starting from an E.A. firmware there is no window requesting an update to a higher version since it is a test version.

That’s the point of this type of rollback.
I haven’t updated and am still on Production version 5.9.02. I get a prompt window asking me to switch to the new production version every time I wake up from sleep mode. In addition, the cursor is set to “Yes” by default.

I bypassed the appearance of this window in the startup sequence of my Logitech Harmony Elite activity.

So, even though this software is a beta version, a message appears informing you that a new software update is available? And this message appears every time the device is turned on from sleep mode. Am I understanding this correctly?

Sorry, it’s the opposite.
The window doesn’t appear in E.A. mode, as Gilles confirmed to me.
This is normal since this is a test version and not a production version, which would require the window upgrade this version to the next higher production version.

Among those who had Radios in the My Radio tab of RoseRadio, did they disappear after Reset and installation of the Early Access version?

No update requests, device out of standby or turned off as specified by Domrol

Cougar2025,

I managed to go back to version 5.8, but one other thing wouldn’t let me do. It installed fine, but upon restarting, it didn’t recognize the external USB 3 hard drive, and the startup screen started blinking intermittently. I had to shut down everything, disconnect the hard drive, and reinstall version 5.9. As you can see, this is complete crap.

@JMBARG

We apologize for any inconvenience.

This issue can be resolved by removing your external HDD from your Rose device, performing a factory reset, and then using it again.

I tested all the functions last night after the last update. Everything works perfectly, and the sound is excellent as always. All settings were retained, except for the fact that I had to rearrange the icons on the home screen, and the fixed analog output voltage of 1000mV was reset to 300mV.

What device do you have and what filter do you have? And do you think the sound after the latest update is comparable to what you had before the update? Have you noticed any sound degradation on your device after the latest update?

What version do you have?

My device is an RS-250
FIR Filter: Minimum Phase Fast Roll-Off Filter
I don’t notice any deterioration.

Official Version V 5.9.07 in the device and version Premium Connect App V 5.9.07.3

So much the better if it works

We are many on Rs151 and Rs130 to complain and absolutely no return from Hifirose!! It’s deplorable on their part

We had to manage on their own with Early Access.

Suffice it to say that on the forums dedicated to music there is an outburst of anger, it is certain that those who wanted to buy a Hifirose will pass their way

I had an Rs150b (sold) an Rd160 (sold) and now an Rs130 and I think it will be the last of the brand, I no longer have any confidence

Their silence will kill them!!

After making the request I received an email with a ZIP file to return to the old version

The Early Access version works well I did not install this version received from Hifirose.

For those who received it, did you install it?

the new software seems to run great on my RS250…
The only thing I noticed is related to this new software.
the new RoseConnect app for MAC (silicon)
[Release] Rose C0onnect PC (Official: Ver 5.9.14) (Win/MAC) / Compatible with Roser devices (Ver 5.9.07)

seems to be damaged.
When I put the app file in the app directory, MAC OS permanently throws a message that “RoseConnect” is damaged and has to be deleted…
then i have 2 buttons, delet it and cancel…
When I cancel the dialogue, the message appears again and again…

MAC OS 15.6 (24G84) - latest update

This update therefore only seems to work for rs250

Not for other devices

@ROSEHAN @ROSELOA don’t you read the many reviews?

My device is RS150B and I don’t see any change in the sound after updating.

Gillesbonatti

That’s not entirely true, though. Several people on this forum who own the RS 151 and RS 130 have written that they don’t notice any sound degradation. The question is why several others do.
In my distributor’s stores in my country, no one calls complaining about their sound degradation after the latest update, so it’s a bit strange why this has happened to several users on this forum.

I’ve also attached a private email from a Rose employee regarding the latest update and the sound degradation.

“Hello
After the recent update, the only change related to sound quality is the filter name. There have been no modifications to the actual sound quality.
As you can see in the picture below, the filter names used in the previous version have simply been changed to the new names shown on the right after the update.
After updating, your Rose device may have automatically switched to “Minimum Phase Fast Roll-off (Default)”. We recommend checking your filter settings and re-selecting the filter that matches the one you were using in the previous version.
Thank you”

Given that the people who do, allegedly, hear some difference with 130, which has no sound whatsoever, are the same people who also believe that different brands of fiber cable sound differently, this is just “golden ear” clowns parading their delusions.
