[Official] SW Ver 5.9 (Rose OS 5.9.09) Software Release

The latest version for the RS151 units is 5.9: Rose OS 5.9.07 - Rose Main 5.9.07.1 - Rose Service 5.9.07.1, and it has caused DISASTERS in audio quality. The people at HiFi Rose assure us and swear by the holy gospel that they haven’t touched or modified the operation of the DAC or audio outputs. My ears don’t lie, and I hope that, for a unit that costs thousands of dollars, they’ll correct this major problem in the next update.

@Cougar2025

In the case of the RS151, the update was not released on the same date as other models.
The update for the RS151 will be released soon.
It would be difficult for us to have users test the update before the official release.

@JMBARG

We can confirm that no changes were made to the audio output in previous updates.
The RS151 update will be released soon.
After the update, please let us know if the same issue persists.

@ROSEHAN

“We can confirm that no changes were made to the audio output in previous updates.”

Maybe not at the output audio but at internal processing, which could affect the clock for example… puis le reste.

If you can’t test new firmware on your own before officially rolling it out to all users of your devices, and you encounter problems with subsequent firmware releases like many people are reporting here, you could have a really big problem.
The solution is that the people responsible for this at Rose need to work much harder on the new fixes they’ll be implementing in subsequent firmware releases, because unfortunately, it doesn’t work correctly for everyone.
It’s worth considering.

If you are in the warranty period… have MoFi or Rose USA send you a replacement unit.

It will be interesting to know how this plays out.
If you’re in Chicago… you could always meet MoFi face to face at AXPONA.

Uhm… ok…
Wait, who made the statement. HiFi Rose Korea, or MoFi?

Because it sounds like you have emails from Rose acknowledging the issue.

What about your dealer?
Not sure where you live, but what does your dealer say?

What does Upscale Audio have to say?

Also google California’s Lemon Law(s) Since Upscale Audio is in California.

Also contact MoFi and get them to detail how they tested your unit to verify that it works and that the issues you have aren’t happening?

Huh?
Actually your point of sale is the first place to start.
Especially if its a relatively new unit and under warranty.

They can also present you with other options.
(Like take the unit back. Give you credit towards a different product)

Also get their take on what options you have…

ah gotcha.
good luck

Rosehan.

With all due respect, I must tell you that you’re wrong. After the latest update, my RS151 doesn’t sound like it used to; my ears don’t lie.

I am not happy with 5.9.07 on RS151 either, so I installed 5.8.03 Early Acces version.I went back and forth three times for SQ comparison and my system is pretty resolving, so I stick to EA for now. Let’s hope 5.9.09 will fix SQ issue. I had two issues in the past with my RS151, I contacted support by email and both was solved quickly and professional, so I am confident Rose team will not let us down.

Dear HiFi Rose users,

First of all, we will once again review the RS151 version 5.9.07 in detail.
In the upcoming RS151 update, we will do our best to deliver improvements that will meet your expectations and satisfaction.

Uhm silly question… maybe you should ask MoFi…
How is the unit not compatible w an amp?

Did they say how it was incompatible?
Is there something wrong w the balanced out on the RS151?

Weird.

I think they are saying an impedance mismatch.

It could be a real problem… like adding a resistor to the tweeter circuit.

One other thing…
On the RS151 can you set the output to a fixed value ?

I know on the RS520 you can set the output on the line out to be a fixed value.
There’s a list of ‘Preoutput Level Settings’.

How do I configure the VU meters in the Rose RS 151 to match the volume potentiometer? Currently, regardless of whether we’re setting the volume to input or output, the VU meters behave as if we were listening to music at very high volume and are too insensitive. At the same time, the VU meters in the Accup[hase have smaller VU meters and are more sensitive than the Rose.

Perhaps something can be done in the latest update to make the VU meters more accurate in relation to the set volume.
They’re currently living their own life.

Just out of curiosity… how long have you owned the amp ?
How old?
When was it last tested and serviced?

I mean how do you know its 85k ohms?

Ok…
So the reason I asked…

Is that on older Amps… you sometimes need to recap them and also check some of the resistors.
Since it was recently serviced… that answers that question.

But you were running the Rose for months before the issue, which concurred with the upgrade.
How long have you had the Cambridge in the loop?

It sucks that you’ve hit a snag … don’t know what to say.

Please provide more detailed information about where the albums are not showing. It would be great if you could attach a photo as well.

Yesterday I updated from version 5.09.07 to 5.09.09. The download went smoothly, but the restart and installation unfortunately wouldn’t start automatically. I had to force a restart, after which the update was successfully installed and the device optimized. After entering the PIN code once, everything is working perfectly again.
