Who starts? :rofl:

Not me at the moment!!

Just performed the update on my RS130. All went well, as far as I can see and hear.

I just updated.
Hifi Rose, of course, hasn’t announced a possible sound quality upgrade… Well, I can tell you that I was surprised when I listened to the first track after the upgrade. It sounds so much better. I’ve rediscovered that depth, 3D quality that had seduced me, and that flesh-and-bone quality. It’s amazing how accustomed I’d become to the poor sound the previous version inflicted on us. My 25-year-old daughter asked me if I’d bought another new $1 million cable… because the sound was different from usual, so be it!
The update went smoothly.
For the SQ, I can only recommend this upgrade. As for the other improvements, I haven’t noticed anything; for me, it was already working well.

@ROSEHAN

Hello ROSEHAN,

Does this update include the firmware fix you sent me regarding the random audio loss from my RS130 to my RD160?

For your information, since your fix, I’ve had no more issues waking up my RS130 for nearly 90 times.

Will this firmware could overwrite your patch?

@domrol
This is hifirose.
This has been fixed in v5.9.09, released today. Please leave a comment if this occurs again.

Thanks shim,

Are you part of the Hifi Rose team?

Hi
I’m an SQA engineer. I’ve tested the issue you mentioned, so I’m leaving a comment.
Thank you.

@PatriceP

Thank you Patrice for your feedback.

I will try in a few days.

Any new updates for my bricked update 5.9.07.1 on my RS151…
The update has a freakout and a dsp clipping event
Not positive the Qobuz didn’t generate it!
Anyway I’m getting custom tweeters made a very steep price
Funny what a 600 watt class A amp can do!!!:sob:

Good luck to everyone, I’ll wait to read more comments and see if I risk my RS151 getting worse.

Did they fix the sound quality issue? I did the previous update, and since then, my RS151 has never been the same in terms of audio quality.

What product do you have? RS151, RS150, RS130?

I have an RS130 connected to the RD160.

I confirm once again, the difference in sound is simply astounding!!! Damn, I don’t know what they did in this update, but it’s night and day.
As it turns out, nothing is hopeless with Hifi Rose, even if they prove us wrong all too often.

Thanks for your reply. Not long ago, I upgraded from an RS250A to an RS151. I applied the software update from before today’s, and everything turned into a complete disaster regarding the audio.

I’m still using the EA version that came out just before the official 5.9.07. Didn’t want to do that upgrade after reading a number of folks having problems with it. So in my case, to do the 5.9.09 official update, is the quoted process the best, or should I do a full factory reset first? @ROSEHAN, @ROSELOA, your help would be appreciated.

Did this give the RS151 its original FIR again? The RS151 hasn’t been the same since the FIR were all changed, as the app and the device seem to conflict a lot, and the device crashes frequently if you try to do anything related to the DAC since 5.9 messed the DAC up. (Changing DSD, FIR settings amongst other output settings in the app makes the device very unhappy)
I also prefer the Super Slow Roll Off FIR, which was removed in the RS151, and was its original default, with the last major release. It sounds similar to the RS250 post 5.9, even having the RS250’s default FIR and FIR naming conventions which seems odd since the RS150/150B weren’t changed. and I upgraded to the RS151 from the RS250 for a reason.

I had the same disastrous experience as you, and despite reverting, hard resetting, etc., I never got back the sound I had before. Now I have.
I must say that since this afternoon, I’ve been enjoying listening to my playlists again and rediscovering my favorite tracks. In fact, I didn’t realize how much the quality had dropped before today’s update. It’s incomprehensible.
