▣ Rose Streamer Features & Stability Improvements

1. Added Remote Diagnostics under Settings → System Settings.
2. Added duration information when adding items to Favorites, Recently Played, and Playlists.
3. Fixed an issue where the Wi-Fi setup screen did not appear in the Setup Wizard.
4. Fixed an issue where children’s videos such as Pinkfong and Pororo could not be played on RoseTube.
5. Improved stability during CD ripping.
6. Fixed an issue where the “Refreshing Weather” toast message appeared every minute on the Clock screen.
7. Fixed an issue where NAS tracks could not be played from the Queue after rebooting the device.
8. Removed the version check pop-up when entering Rose Store.
9. Improved radio image quality and bitmap processing.
10. Updated the loading progress bar UI on the Queue playback screen.
11. Improved the loading UI related to buffering during playback.
12. Revised the translation for “Add to Playlist” and added an icon.
13. Added a Max Volume setting for Roon.
14. Roon Connect Service is now turned off when using USB IN.
15. Fixed an issue where DLNA and Symphony Premium apps could stop during system startup.
16. Improved stability when switching HDMI from On to Off.
17. Added left and right spacing to the Qobuz Connect and TIDAL Connect icons.
18. Adjusted the check intervals for NSD, RemoteServer, and SimpleRemoteServer to improve Rose Connect connection reliability.
19. Added a Cache On/Off option for RS130.
20. Improved RS130 caching so that 30-second previews and sample tracks are streamed directly instead of being cached.
21. Fixed an issue where Rose Store app updates could remain stuck on “Downloading.”
22. Fixed an issue where USB/SSD power remained enabled during Standby Mode even when the corresponding option was turned off in System Settings.
23. Fixed an issue where the Previous button did not work after more than 10 seconds of VLC playback.
24. Fixed an issue where Wi-Fi did not turn on with a single touch after being turned off.
25. Fixed an issue where ISO file playback was incorrectly recognized as an inserted CD, preventing the CD eject function from working properly afterward.
26. Fixed an issue where a different track appeared to be selected when TIDAL track information in a Playlist had changed and the original track could no longer be played.
27. Fixed an issue where the Queue could incorrectly indicate that a different track was playing when an “Asset is not ready for playback” track occurred during playback.
28. Added CD playback status checking when using ISO → Rose One → CD Playback → Music → Folder → Play All.
29. Improved system stability to prevent crashes during RS451 startup.
30. Added an authentication error message when an incorrect Wi-Fi password is entered.

▣ RW800 Integration Improvements

1. Fixed an issue where Chromecast playback from Standby Mode did not use the last sampling rate.
2. Fixed an issue where the previous IP address could still appear in NSD searches from Rose Connect after turning Network Sharing On/Off.
3. Added exception handling when RW800 playback starts during CD playback.
4. Added AudioService Close processing when playback is stopped.
5. Added an option to disable RW800 device detection under Settings → System Settings → Disable RW800 Device Detection.
6. Improved delay during SEEK operations.
7. Added Stop processing when changing DAC output during playback.
8. Fixed an issue where thumbnails did not appear during playback after rebooting while connected via Wi-Fi.
9. Fixed an issue where playback information did not update when moving to the next track during TIDAL Connect playback.
10. Fixed an issue where playback information was not displayed when resuming playback 30 seconds after pausing.
11. Improved the Play/Pause icon when moving to the next track during TIDAL Connect playback.
12. Fixed Play/Pause icon inconsistencies and maintained the UI state after 30 seconds of Pause.
13. Fixed an issue where the progress bar briefly moved to 00:00 before updating to the correct position when using SEEK during TIDAL Connect playback.
14. Fixed an intermittent issue where no sound was output when starting RW800 playback.
15. Fixed audio loss that could occur when the sample rate changed between tracks.
16. Improved RW800 control command processing logic to reduce CPU usage.
17. Fixed a sample rate setting error when waking from Sleep Mode while using Apple Music via Google Cast.

▣ Symphony Premium Improvements

1. Added subtitle language code saving under Subtitle Settings.
2. Fixed an issue where the Resume Playback pop-up did not appear when using another player, and an issue where playback restarted from 0:00 after disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable.
3. Updated the common Network Error pop-up UI.
4. Download progress is now displayed to one decimal place.
5. Increased buffer time from 7 to 15.
6. Fixed an issue where the next chunk continued downloading after a network error occurred during a download.
7. Fixed an issue that could cause choppy-looking playback or apparent frame drops when playing Hi-Res 4K content while an external HDD database scan was in progress.

I have a HiFi Rose RS151 running Rose OS version 5.9.08.1, where everything works perfectly and the audio quality is simply spectacular.

Before updating to the new version, I would appreciate it if someone from the HiFi Rose development team, or another person with the appropriate technical knowledge, could answer the following questions:

• Have there been any changes to the DAC’s operation or performance, or to the audio quality?

• Have there been any changes to the preamp output level settings?

• Have there been any changes to the settings related to mV Unbalanced?

• Have there been any changes to the input and output configuration?

• Have there been any changes to the operation or behavior of the digital filters?

• Is the Minimum Phase Slow Roll-off Filter still available for selection?

• Is the actual analog output level via RCA and XLR exactly the same as in version 5.9.08.1?

• Has the audio signal processing or playback path been changed, even if the DAC and filters remain the same?

• Will my current settings be preserved after updating, or will any audio settings be reset to their default values?

Since the update, my VU meters are pegging when streaming from the radio or other sources. How can I better adjust the VU meter levels?

So, the VU meters are constantly pegged at the maximum level and barely moving. This only started happening after today’s update; before that, it was perfect.

The new update is running well for me on the rs151. All settings have remained and also the fir filters are as it should be otherwise the same. The output power has also remained at 3000mv for me. So all good

Thank you for your reply. I’d like to know whether the settings shown in the images I’m sharing are still the same on your RS151.

HiFi ROSE still hasn’t answered my questions, and I still have serious doubts about updating. In the past, firmware updates have affected my audio quality, including DAC operation and the outputs and their settings.
