The issue was resolved by connecting to a different network (hotspot on my phone) and then connecting back to my home network.
Thank you @Rose_love so much for solution and for the prompt response!

People!
An absolute disaster! It’s going from bad to worse; I have no intention of updating my RS151—my current software version makes it run like a fighter jet!
I suggest trying to go back to version ROSE 5.9.08 - ROSE MAIN 5.9.08.1 - ROSE SERVICE 5.9.08.1; it really gets the most out of the RS151.
It is truly shameful, and on top of that, they didn’t answer the questions I asked several times!
After this update the vu meter are completely in the max output whatever music i play. Before the update is was ok. Please solve
Dear HiFi ROSE Support,
I have discovered a serious and potentially dangerous volume-control problem on my RS151.
The problem started with Rose OS 5.11.07 and remained after updating to 5.11.08. I initially expected 5.11.08 to fix it because its changelog mentions a LINE OUT switching problem.
My setup is:
• RS151 connected directly to a stereo power amplifier
• Pre-Out level setting: OFF
• Analog output in use
With Software Volume Control ON, the sound is sometimes almost inaudible even at 99% volume. Switching from HDMI ARC back to the internal RS151 source may temporarily restore normal volume, but changing to the next track can make the sound quiet again—or suddenly extremely loud. The displayed volume level does not reliably correspond to the actual output level.
With Software Volume Control OFF, the sound returns and the volume can still be adjusted, but the output seems quieter and the sound appears different in quality.
This creates a serious risk of damaging the loudspeakers or amplifier.
I temporarily returned to Rose OS 5.12.05 Early Access, and I cannot reproduce the problem there with the same setup.
Could you please confirm whether this is a known regression in 5.11.07/5.11.08, possibly related to LINE OUT routing or Software Volume Control? Please also clarify what Software Volume Control actually changes for the analog output and whether it should be enabled when the RS151 is connected directly to a power amplifier.
About my “White Noise” on 16-Bit PCM only we talk later;)
For safety reasons, I am temporarily avoiding 5.11.08.
Boris! where is Boris? We need you to come in, restore order, and explain to the programming and engineering geniuses how to fix this absolute disaster!
I wonder what HiFi Rose will do and how they’ll go about it—to regain credibility with their next software release and resolve all of this.
Hi HifiRose, any feedback from you would be very helpful. How long do we need to wait for a hot fix?

Credibility? What credibility? Rose is a company that exists to scratch its owner’s itch to be an “audiophile manufacturer” and markets to people who believe that different brands of fiber have “sound.” Note how neither of these requires employing people who know jack about programming, electronics, acoustics, or anything like that – those people cost too much money anyway. If we are lucky, they provide a $50/month budget to owner’s nephew’s mistress’s kid they had hired to write their “software” to get the cheapest subscription to Kimi, or MiMo or some other cut-rate Chinese model to vibe code it.
I don’t think they have even ever bothered, after many years, to fix sticking volume control on the 520 (which can very easily blow out your speakers, ears, or both).
And, having no idea how audio actually works, they can’t even be bothered to release anything with proper bass management, let alone room correction. Meaning that in 2026 (or 2025m, or 2024…) they are behind not only real high-end (e.g. Lyngdorf) but mid-market (NAD, BlueSound, EverSolo) or even mass-market (Wiim anyone?) brands in real-life sound quality and will never catch up. But… hey, you can buy an external box to do Spotify Lossless!
Seriously… a PowerNode, costing a fraction of 520’s price, sounded better than 520 even before, and despite being out of production for years, Lenbrook updated it with Dirac making it sound infinitely better. And of course it supported Tidal/Qobuz/Spotify connect on day one. And Spotify lossless, too. And a dozen other services Rose haven’t even heard of. And Lenbrook replaced an out of warrantly PowerNode for me, because it broke down in an interesting enough way. Rose can’t even handle warranty repairs well.
What credibility exactly were you talking about?
And what is it with mentioning my name in vain?
Very disappointed in the upgrades this company pushes out to customers. Why does an upgrade to fix basic issues destroy the premium sound customers have paid for? Is there a procedure to roll back an upgrade? I’m really beginning regret this purchase.
Indeed there are many signals that indicate that they are not acting like a high end manufacturer who cares about its products or costumers
Not really sure what “high-end” is supposed to be, but given the shared management, it is surprising that Citech had stayed in business that long… Even outright snake oil peddlers like BS Audio do actually provide pretty good customer service… while Rose just keeps promising that they will start testing their software and fixing known defects, but it just never happens…
I’m starting to regret spending so much money on this product Shouldve kept my wimm ultra. Every update is a problem
slow app to use. Vu metres don’t work. They fix one problem and create another. At least all the streaming apps worked on the wimm ultra…hopefully we get a resolution. Otherwise it’s a
hope someone out there in hifirose management is listening. To me to always have that many updates means there’s a problem with this product.
Lol these VU meter’s are a joke. I turn my volume to zero. They are still showing peak. I changed inputs from setting input. To output no different. Nice gimic hifirose…
Fotoklasika you are so right. Al this negative gossip and complaining all the time makes the device not any better. Let’s hope Hifi Rose comes with a good solution and in time and i can manage with the latest firmware. I only use it with Roon and the album covers make me smile too.
Good luck HifiRose
I am pretty sure that this developer wil have a scolding from his manager. All you members, lets look at the bright side and those of you who can come up with any good ideas feel free and post them. It really makes me sick how some members only make things worse.

So it’s not the android version
I don’t care about the meters and other gadgets … the screen meh, it’s beautiful but it’s not a purchase criterion.
My Rs130 is in version 5.9.07, it makes a beautiful sound and that’s all I ask of it…

It’s really sad how you all respond. If you would look deeper in wich android version for example the RS151 runs you would see it’s not the 7.1 like some members say. Its a shielded AndroidOs 12 version.
Give HifiRose some slack. I am sure with some patience they resolve the last firmware and we all are happy.
In my opinion. Dont download every firmware update as it comes.
