Please change power behavior

Currently, when giving the RS130 power, it does nothing. It doesn’t power on until I hit power on the remote, in the app, or on the unit itself.

I use a power conditioner with switched outlets, so I’m able to turn my whole system on and off with my voice etc. Since the RS130 doesn’t have a trigger, it would make more sense if the unit turned on when power was applied… there’s already a setting to enable standby after X amount of time, so I can’t think of a reason it shouldn’t work this way.

Ideally we’d be given a menu option to select startup behavior - turn on, go to standby, do nothing

Thanks!!

@9kracing

Sorry, but your request is difficult to implement.

Even though it is inconvenient to use, when powering on, hit power on the remote, in the app, or on the unit itself.

It is difficult to implement powering on the RS130 by voice.

Ah, maybe you misunderstood me.

I just want the RS130 to turn on when you plug it in.

I have a Gustard X30, and it also used to go into standby when I plugged it in. Gustard was able to make me a custom firmware, so now my X30 boots when plugged in without pressing power.

@ROSEHAN You guys can’t make the RS130 power on when it’s plugged in?

@9kracing

Sorry, but even if you connect the power, it is difficult to automatically turn on the device or enter standby mode.
Please press the power button to turn it on.

Leave the RS130 on. I do that.

Also it wakes up when you stream music to it - no need to press any buttons

Well that’s actually the problem… when you plug it in, it doesn’t even go into standby, so no, you can’t just stream to it to wake it up. When you first plug it in, it sits there dead… until you press power on the remote/unit/app. Then if you leave it alone for awhile, and have it set, it will fall into standby mode, and then yes you can stream to it to wake it up.

But when you first plug it in, it does not go to standby. It does nothing.

Hello Rose,
It’s completely incomprehensible that the RS130 doesn’t have a trigger input/output. Who simply forgot something like that???
Of course, there are the USB ports, which can be controlled via the menu. Unfortunately, none of the settings under USB/SSD power activation in standby mode work!
Are there any further helpful tips or recommendations on how to automatically activate the RS130?
Best regards

@cossiers

Please check a few things.

  1. How are your RS130 and DAC connected?
  2. Assuming that your RS130 and DAC are connected via USB, when you go to RS130 → Settings → System Settings → USB/SSD Power in Standby and set it to OFF, does your DAC also turn off when you turn off the RS130?

My intention is to be able to switch the RS130 on and off via an external trigger. However, since there are unfortunately no 12V trigger connections on the RS130, I am looking for a solution using the USB connections.

When you switch +5V on USB PIN1 (VCC) the RS130 should start vom stand-by without pushing the ON button on the top cover.

@cossiers

Which device are you trying to integrate with your RS130?

The RS130 does not have trigger input/output ports, so additional equipment is required.

For example, you can set it up so that when the RS130 turns on, the RA280 amplifier turns on as well, and when the RS130 goes into standby, the RA280 also turns off.

Please try using your RS130 with the USB/SSD power activation in standby mode set to OFF.

Also, please test the setup as described above using the cable mentioned.

Hello ROSEHAN,

thanks for your info. My main goal is to switch ON my RS130 from an external source (not Rose). From my understanding the cable you posted is to switch on another device with the RS130. USB 5V to 12V trigger input.

But I want this the oposite way!

@cossiers

There is no other way besides the method you mentioned.
I’m sorry to give you a disappointing answer.

Hello Rosehan,
yes its very dispappointing!!!
Surely it should be possible to program a logic module via the internal power management system that can switch the RS130 on using an external USB +5V signal! Especially since Rose completely forgot to include 12V trigger inputs/outputs in their product design.
Doesn’t Rose care about customer satisfaction???
