Currently, there are no updates regarding 12V trigger input/output support for Rose devices.
While this feature cannot be added to current products at this time, it may be considered for future models. If approved through internal review, 12V trigger input/output functionality could be included in upcoming products.
Consider it. It is inexpensive to implement.
Sometimes I wonder if Rose is so intent on building everything from scratch that it doesn’t look at tried and true stuff that has been working for decades.

The solution should be a software change regarding the current product RS130!

Cost is going to be relative.
But here’s a question that I have…
When you power on your system… what do you turn on first?
Do you turn on your source then your amp?
Or do you turn your amp on then your source?
On your 12v, do you want to be able to daisy chain, or do you expect the device to be the last in the line of devices?
Are there alternatives? (e.g. wake on signal?)
I am indifferent, I was just responding to cossiers interest in a 12V trigger. I am certainly not suggesting hardware changes to an existing product, but a 12V trigger in new products could be considered because I don’t think it would add meaningfully to cost and it does offer convenience to those who need it.
In my system I have a combination of triggers (primarily the amps) and direct activation of source components from Crestron.

I think one of the things I see over time is there are two camps. One is fine with Rose products in a dedicated two channel stereo system (or similar) and then there are the people that want to incorporate in a home theater system or dual use. I am definitely in the “former” use case. And it seems to me that Rose primarily intended their components for dedicated stereo use.
What I really don’t understand are people that either don’t read the specifications before purchasing an expensive component and/or hope that by requesting features, they can turn a product into their ideal.
I think you may be mistaken. If you read the manual sent with the RS130 and others it says that it does not decode multi-channel but it would pass the multichannel signal through its HDMI output. It even says it has multichannel pass through. It does not. Also many of the units offer HDMI out, which to me says they are used for video like RoseTube. These are just two examples that shout that this was to be versatile equipment, capable of inclusion in dedicated two channel setups as well as AV setups.
Now a dCS Bartok on the other hand makes no pretense to be anything other than a two channel device, one that does what it says it can do.
My comment was more in the general sense and specifically related to power trigger not HDMI use.

If @Carnelian didn’t know, he wouldn’t have posted what he did. Besides, he was speaking in general terms—not specifically about eARC/ARC or HDMI ports.
So, you don’t always have to try to lecture everyone around here.

Sign up for a two-month Roon subscription. That way, you can see how well the 520 handles it.

First of all, this thread started out about the RS130. In no world that I am aware of could the RS130 not be incorporated into a home theater or AV system, trigger or not. Whether some people choose to use it in a pure 2 channel system is up to them or just a failure of imagination.
Just because the RS130 ports only 2 channels (despite what the manual and marketing materials say) does not mean that an AV preamp or receiver cannot upmix that signal to multi-channel using codecs like Auro-3D and DTS-X or plain old Dolby Surround. And believe it or not you can use a home theater or AV setup to listen to 2 channel! Just push a button. 2 channel. I even have a turntable, gasp, connected to my system. And it sounds mighty fine.
Two channel, minimalist systems have their place, it is not what I choose to do in my space.

Implementing a 12V trigger input/output on the RS130 isn’t the issue here at all!
That feature would have been nice to have, but the device simply doesn’t have it. It is also perfectly clear that Rose has no intention of adding this to the current model now—and I’m certainly not expecting them to.
There is, however, a workaround involving an external USB signal and a software-side adjustment to the USB power management menu (specifically, the “USB/SSD power activation” setting).
And that—and only that—is what I inquired about with Rosehan and the R&D team!

I don’t think that copying and pasting standard responses (generic text blocks) improves a customer forum!
I also understand that Rose is currently focusing heavily on the Rose One App. However, surely it wouldn’t be too difficult to have a colleague from R&D perform a quick technical check and provide a qualified response.

There really are two parallel conversations going on here, one on power behavior (OP) and one on whether the Rose “streamers” are intended for primarily 2ch setups (Carnelian). My “tangent” is on the latter. To me the Rose is just another source like a disc player or Tivo or Apple TV and that it can be integrated into a home theater just as easily as it could be the centerpiece of a 2ch system. Perhaps his post about people not reading the specifications before purchasing “triggered” me.
I am done commenting on this topic other than to reiterate that Rose could consider triggers on future products. But given the more serious concerns that I read about on this forum, a trigger is arguably low priority even though it would help some people.
