@Charrison
To verify if you are playing in 4K (2160P) on the RS130, check if ‘3840X2160 VP9’ is displayed on the RS130 playback screen. Alternatively, if it is displayed as shown below in the Rose Connect app, you can confirm that it is playing in 2160P

Hi, what you are saying, maybe is not exactly right.
You tube will often reduce the available resolution automatically. On the Apple TV box platform you have the ability to select a choice, a check box, to force you tube to play at a higher resolution 2160p, higher than what you tube picked for you when you select that video to play. You can do this while the video is playing and make another selection.
In fact some 1080p videos even have a choice that increases the resolution to something they are calling “enhanced”. Again it’s check box in the Apple TV box.
But the Apple TV box just like the RS130 always outputs 2160p, but the source that the box is acquiring from you tube, seems to be able to be changed.
Maybe you all at rose could look at the the Apple TV box and you can see this setting menu, you use it while you are playing videos, it’s selectable using the Apple TV remote control.
The menu pops up and will display what you tube is sending, and also it displays what is available for that video. But again there might be 2160p available but you tube doesn’t always send that, you see that on this menu, and then you can select highest quality, but it’s doesn’t always select highest quality by itself.
Please check this out with an Apple TV box.
But I’m saying on rose tube that the menu chocies that you tube allowed on the Apple TV, are not on the RS130 box.
Again the output of the RS130 and the Apple TV box are always set to 2160 4k by the output setting, but the resolution form you tube can be different from you tube. And in Apple TV box that can be forced or changed during playback in Apple.tv, using the remote control. rS130 doesn’t have that. So I believe that sometimes you tube make a choice and sends a lower quality but stream.
However you told me that I think you said that Hifi rose only has 1080p for you tube/rose tube and that as high as it will go, even though the output of rs130 is set to 2160p.
But in rs130 in tidal videos are never reduced by tidal and are often 2160p and rs130 displays full bit rate on tidal videos, this is true as I can see the quality increase in my 4k tv.
Just saying Hifi rose doesn’t seem to have this user control for resolution that you tube allows on Apple TV box.
And because of that when you tube reduces bit rate rs130 has no rose tube control to change it.
This reduced but rate can be seen in the hdmi output on my tv.
Can you check Apple TV box, to see what I am talking about. The menu on you tube for playback on Apple TV box.
I think you need to see this yourself. Then you will understand what I am trying to ask about.
Thanks
RS130 Resolution Implementation Guide
The following details the current resolution settings for the RS130. Please refer to the information below:
1. TV Connection: HDMI Resolution Settings
Settings > Display > HDMI resolution > 3840 x 2160P 60
- This setting defines the HDMI output resolution between the TV and the RS130, regardless of the actual video streaming quality.
- Example: Even if a RoseTube video is played at 480p, the HDMI output resolution to the TV remains at 2160p.
2. RoseTube Video Quality Selection
RoseTube > Setup > Resolution Setting > Top-quality picture
- When playing YouTube videos, the system will automatically play the highest quality available from YouTube.
- If 4K is supported, it will play the 2160p video.
RoseTube > Setup > Resolution Setting > User selection
- The video will play strictly at the resolution manually selected on the right side of the RoseTube playback screen (e.g., 720p).
3. Additional Note
- When playing video directly on the device screen (without a TV connected), 4K (2160p) content is automatically capped at 1080p.
- This is implemented to minimize unnecessary network traffic, as the visual difference is negligible on the device’s compact screen.
