Well, we also tried on my friend’s CH Precision C1 DAC, without success, not recognized…
In fact, we should keep a list of compatible DACs, as there aren’t many at the moment, or am I mistaken?

@musiq So sorry for the trouble you are experiencing… I want to testify that my RS130 has no problem playing to my MSB DAC thru either USB2.0 or 3.0ports, both direct or thru ROSE’s optical HUB RS720 ports. My RS720’s date code is november 2023, but i just bought it last month, so maybe it received the last firmware before shipping ?
@ROSEHAN how Can we check the firmware version inside the RS720 ???
There is no separate way to check the RSA720 pubware version.

@ZABOKS
I think all RSA720s have the same firmware, because I’ve never had to give a date, serial number or part number. The “new firmware” fixes a problem with DAC recognition when using the RSA720. Connection is not possible with all DACs.
I finally got my Terminator to work on the RSA720 in optical (SFP mode) with firmware 82.0.42 (VL671_82_00_42_00_RSA720_20230906).
In fact I don’t know why, USB2.0 socket no 1 was in 82.0.40 and didn’t work at all and USB2.0 socket no 2 was still in 92.0.9 and recognized the DAC but I had no sound!
Anyway, everything’s working fine now!
@musiq @ROSEHAN If possible, can you kindly send the the firmware update and instructions for the RSA270 hub? I’m having the same connectivity issue described here. @ROSEHAN, I sent you an email yesterday on this matter also.
I’ve opened a post under Support on this matter too.
Hope I can resolve this via the firmware update.
Thanks!
I have forwarded the RSA720 update file to james lan.
If the name above is you, please check your email.
If not, please request the RSA720 update file via the email below.
Then I will deliver the update file to your email.
While my RS130 was being replaced I was using a loaner from my dealer. Ever since I got mine back and even before I sent it in I have an issue with my DAC connecting to my RS130. Chain is:
RS130 —> Fiber SFP to Fiber SFP —> RSA720 —> Holo May DAC via USB
Issue: I often/regularly need to reboot my RS130 to get it to recognize my DAC. My RS130 is usually on sleep mode and my DAC I turn off due to heat (I live in a hot climate).
I would think this was a common issue but with the “loaner” from my dealer while my RS130 was being replaced due to screen failure this never happened.
I have tired a hard reset. What else can I do?

I’ve updated my RSA720. Is there a new release? What’s the latest?
Why would one RS130 work every time for 1 month and another fail to connect 90% of the time without a reboot?
Issue persists. Updated firmware and even though I can get it to recognise the DAC and plays, but it stops after a few songs, sometimes a bit longer. You can trigger this straightaway when changing the sample rate.
I have tried this on 2 DAC and 2 DDC, same problem persists. It’s extremely frustrating and even rebooting the RSA720 doesn’t guarantee it will work. Sometimes it takes multiple tries. Very subpar side unit for such a high-end streamer companion.
This may sound funny, but for those that had issues with USB connection on the RSA720, I found that when I first installed the early access S/W I had to switch the USB port that I connected my DAC to be recognized by the RS130. That 2nd port has been working for me without any issues since March.
Not sure this has anything to do with it, but I leave my DAC on and connected to the RS130 and put the RS130 in standby mode when not in use.
Since the initial EA update being installed, I have not had any issues recognizing the DAC after S/W updates, rebooting or powering down the entire system and restarting.
Dear Hi-Fi Rose users
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
In the EA version, we also confirmed that it was not compatible with other DACs.
It appears that a compatibility issue occurred while separating the newly released RD160 and SFP.
We will fix the issue as soon as possible.
Users who need RS130, external DAC, and USB connection should use the Official version, not the EA version.
We are currently fixing the issue.
We will fix it and distribute updates as soon as possible.
I’m using Weiss 204 with rs130 and rsa720 and updated to version 42 but still no Dac found . What should I do ??
If you haven’t done so, try unplugging and plugging back the Weiss DAC to the 720. It worked on the Weiss 204 I borrowed from my vendor.
The spf from rsa720 to rs130, must be 1000base T?
