I just got my new RS130 last week. Today it wanted to update software. It’s been stuck on this screen around 45min and I’m scared to power off. Any advice anyone?
I understand your apprehension, but I think you are going to have to power down, possibly unplugging the power cord from the back.
You might want to wait for a second opinion.
Sadly I have had to unplug the power dozens of times since I first purchased the unit.
The good news is that your unit is brand new and you can return it to your retailer if you have a serious problem. Don’t sleep on this!
I think it will just exit out if you cancel the update. Mine did that a time or two and then eventually accepted the update.
Did you already get the update installed?
Also, software updates only take a few minutes, for example mine today took 3-5 minutes. If it is taking 45 min, it has either lost connection with the server or something hit a glitch. I would first try to power down with the power button on top, and then if that didn’t work try unplugging.
Please check the following:
- After unplugging the power cable from the rear of your RS130 and then rebooting, does the update still fail to complete?
After rebooting, navigate to Settings → System Update and try the update process once more. - Please check your network connection.
If the network is unstable, the update may stop in the middle of the process. - If OTA updates continue to get stuck, please send us your device’s model name (e.g. RS130, RS150B, RS201, RS250, etc.) and we will provide a manual update package via USB along with instructions to install it safely.
