Software update stuck

I just got my new RS130 last week. Today it wanted to update software. It’s been stuck on this screen around 45min and I’m scared to power off. Any advice anyone?

I understand your apprehension, but I think you are going to have to power down, possibly unplugging the power cord from the back.

You might want to wait for a second opinion.

Sadly I have had to unplug the power dozens of times since I first purchased the unit.

The good news is that your unit is brand new and you can return it to your retailer if you have a serious problem. Don’t sleep on this!

I think it will just exit out if you cancel the update. Mine did that a time or two and then eventually accepted the update.

Did you already get the update installed?

Also, software updates only take a few minutes, for example mine today took 3-5 minutes. If it is taking 45 min, it has either lost connection with the server or something hit a glitch. I would first try to power down with the power button on top, and then if that didn’t work try unplugging.

Please check the following:

  1. After unplugging the power cable from the rear of your RS130 and then rebooting, does the update still fail to complete?
After rebooting, navigate to Settings → System Update and try the update process once more.
  2. Please check your network connection.
If the network is unstable, the update may stop in the middle of the process.
  3. If OTA updates continue to get stuck, please send us your device’s model name (e.g. RS130, RS150B, RS201, RS250, etc.) and we will provide a manual update package via USB along with instructions to install it safely.

I just received a rs451 and had the same issue and ended up pressing cancel

However, I navigated to the check for update
Menu and started it from there

Everything worked fine for the update with file size and time indicated

As you can see in the link below, we have also identified an issue similar to the one you experienced:

The Software Team has fixed this problem, and the correction will be included in the next update release.

Additionally, when the screen freezes, the message “SOFTWARE UPDATE. Please wait. Do not Power OFF” appears, which causes users to hesitate to reboot the device out of concern that something might go wrong.
To address this, the team will also modify the popup message so that it no longer appears in this situation.
