There is no discussion to be done with the militantly ignorant, and you obviously haven’t bothered to familiarize yourself with TomTurd’s oeuvre.
Where are you at with your research Tom? I’m thinking I may pick up a Ref10 nano. Although I think some people are nuts with using a clock for their router/switches, in all that I’ve read, I haven’t found anyone who actually tried it, saying that it didn’t make a difference or made anything worse. I’m too curious to let it go, it seems.
Hi, I didn’t go further, cause I am considering selling my Rose gear as the company doesn’t really care about its customers.
I have a LHY SW10 and use its clock as master for the RS130 with good result. A friend has the LHY OCS-2s which is even better (it has an even better clock). Beware, the clock cable makes a difference, so buy a quality one with good audiophile references.
Ah, yea, the software is quite bad, and its a shame since their parent company is a user interface company. Kinda crazy. Really wish they would open source it so the community could build something since they are not willing to fix or improve anything.
What are you considering as a replacement?
I’m not sure I buy into the whole high-end clock cable thing either. A solid core copper wire in a wire mesh shield cage at super short distances cannot be that different from each other.
I am considering the Auralic, who have some good new products. Or may be Eversolo or MX. These three are from China with relatively good reputation in sound quality.

Oh, but they absolutely can. Cheap BNC cables can definitely cause issues with signal transmission and result in your device showing errors. I’ve tested very inexpensive generic BNC cables under 1 meter, and they were problematic—poor connectors and inconsistent performance made them unreliable. Sometimes they worked fine, other times the receiving device displayed an error. Switching to Sommer cables resolved the issue immediately. They’re not overly expensive and performed just as well as some of the higher-end cables I tested.
In the end, I opted for custom cables because I wanted specific lengths, premium connectors, and more flexible cables that weren’t overly stiff. So while I don’t think it’s necessary to spend $200 on a cable under 1 meter, I also wouldn’t recommend going for a $10 cable if you’ve invested in and plan to make use of an external clock.
For those of whom this is of interest:
Vid is in Dutch, so please use subtitles for all other languages.
Interesting. Which cable model did you go with?
