Spotify Lossless

Can anyone tell me if it will be possible in the near future to use Spotify Lossless on my RS520? This feature is of now possible on my phone, but not through Spotify Connect to my Rose. Is this a Spotify or a Rose thing?
Many thanx

I am not sure that the feature is fully set up by Spotify yet…

They said end of October.

I would suspect its spotify connect running on the Rose would need to be upgraded.

I am a little confused though. You set this in your settings which is for all devices and associated w your profile. So if you set it there … then it should work everywhere.

No, you have to set it up separately on each device.

Sorry, the image is in Dutch.

Spotify has recently announced Spotify Lossless (sometimes referred to as HiFi), but as of now this feature is only available on a limited rollout and is not yet supported through Spotify Connect on third-party devices, including HiFi Rose.
In other words, the limitation is on Spotify’s side rather than the Rose device itself.

Just installed a Spotify update on my mobile. The lossless option is now available.

Don’t agree. Lumin had it included since day one.

I also had the Spotify update today, but still no lossless option on the Rose

I guess that’ll be end of 2026 when that appears on Rose. Flawlessly working that is. No trust in their development speed and quality anymore. BTW, my Spotify dont show the option yet. Netherlands that is. Not on iPhone, nor on Windows

As said, I have the lossless option on my phone in the Netherlands, but it is an Android phone, maybe that is the difference.

Indeed! Same with me.

Edit: I have lossless on my Android phone, but when choosing stemming to my RS130, that option isn’t there. Assuming Spotify still need to share/update their API to be supported by Hifi Rose and others.

Looks like the roll out is slow.
Nothing here in the US from what I can tell.
Nothing on any of my devices…

Dear HiFi Rose users

According to Spotify, Lossless streaming is scheduled to be gradually rolled out to over 50 markets by October.
Premium subscribers in countries such as Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the United States, and the United Kingdom have already begun receiving the service.

Tidal Connect is in development, though it’s been delayed significantly since we initially discussed it.
As for Spotify Connect, for now, it will only be available in its current form.

I couldn’t have said it better. I love my RS130. It sounds great. A significant improvement over every other streamer I have owned. But, the software/UI is disappointing. If a new startup, Chinese company like Eversolo can get their software and UI to the excellent level pretty much out of the gate, why can’t HiFi Rose? It’s a matter of will.

Expecting a new API for a streaming service update that has not even rolled out properly is unrealistic.
Patience.

@ROSEHAN Do I understand this correct and hear you say that we can forget Spotify Lossless ? Please correct me, because if so this means a total disrespect of your userbase. Years of waiting and then Rose says forget it ? Would mean a massive dump of your equipment. Please tell me I’m wrong.

I believe that he’s telling you that lossless Spotify isn’t 100% rolled out yet.

I can confirm that here in the US, none of my devices has it yet. Although some have reported it and their website details what to expect.

This isn’t a Rose issue. They are confirming the roll out schedule.

Yes, what you said is correct.
Please check the link below.

Thanks for clarifying that it’s basically Spotify limiting not an issue with the HiFi Rose hardware. Hopefully once Spotify expands support, it’ll work seamlessly through Spotify Connect too

Mark6088,

No company that outsources its software is ever going to have the necessary supervision and control to make well functioning software.
HiFi Rose has to make the commitment to bring the software development in house.
Until then, these issues will continue.
It’s inevitable.
Anyone who has ever had to deal with a vendor knows that they will always blow smoke in your ear but they have their own agenda and it isn’t yours.
