System is unresponsive

I got my new RS250 a little over a week ago & it had been behaving beautifully, but now I keep getting a message “HiFi Rose’s System service is not smooth, Would you like to restart it? Restart/Wait” at regular intervals and the system goes unresponsive. A number of times I have had to restart by removing the power to get the system back running.

There has been a number of updates applied in the time I have had it, which have all applied successfully

How can this issue be resolved?

I have attached a screenshot.

Hello,
I’m sorry about the issue, we checked it.

Do you have the issue only from Roon Radio, or do you have the issue when…

  • Playing Tidal / Qobuz / Local files from ROON
  • Playing Tidal / Qobuz / Local files from ROSE (not via ROON)

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you,

I don’t use Tidal or Qobuz, the error message has appeared when the appliance was streaming internet Radio via Roon, playing local files via Roon, or just sitting idle.

I have just rebooted the device and left it, after a few minutes I got the attached error message “Restart System for stable system operation. Restart”

I have noticed that the device seems to be stuck on “DB caching…” for a while after a restart, is this a contributing factor?

DB caching image

The device was more or less unresponsive at that stage, RoseWare could not see it and the screen was unresponsive, it then rebooted itself and went back to DB caching

And again, within a few minutes the device was unresponsive.

Are there any logs I can provide you?

Hello,

Seems like Roon Radio has problem with Rose and it keeps happening even after reboot.

I’m so sorry but would you follow the steps?

  1. RS250 > Settings > System Settings > Factory Reset

  2. Please do not use Roon Radio until next update. Once you use it, it keep affects Rose system.
Roon Radio issue will be fixed on next update and you will be able to you Roon Radio with Rose.

Best Regards,

Thanks, I will give that a go later today & feedback after testing

Reset done, I will let it get on with the “Media Scanning” process before I start using it. That takes a while from memory.

Do you have an eta for the next update to resolve the Roon Radio issue?
While I have only one RS250, I have many Roon capable endpoints, so I use Roon as a control layer for everything to make life easy & I do listen to online radio quite a bit.

Reset, left it catalogue the local music (DB Init), then it was back to the error “HiFi Rose’s System service is not smooth. Would you like to restart it? Restart/Wait”

I haven’t played anything on it since the reset

Again, it was “DB caching” prior to the error message

Hello,

Please check the message.

Thank you.

Dear Roseloa,

Unfortunately I have the same Problem as Joenoonan.
How can I fix it? It is very frustasting issue. The system is unresponsive all the time since the last update. I also use Roon.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello, Hotti,

Have you tried ROON RADIO with ROSE?
Seems like ROON RADIO has compatibility problem with ROSE.
It’s fixed in next update, but next update is not released yet.
For now, please follow the instructions.

  1. Connect ROON and ROSE.
  2. Play TIDAL or QOBUZ or local files you have via ROON with ROSE.
  3. Do not play ROON RADIO until next update is released.

(The Roon Radio issue will be updated in 7 days)

Thank you,

Thank you very much.

i have experienced this today.
is there any fix with the software yet?
i did factory reset it like twice until i got it stabled.
so far it’s been 1 hr now that it’s been stable.

Hello,

What’s your ROSE ID?
ROSE unit > Settings > SystemInfo > ROSE ID

What’s your ROSE model?
RS150B? RS250? RS201E?

My 250 has been stable since the last update, inc using radio via Roon.
Thanks for everything ROSELOA!

I’m having the same issue…“Restart System for stable system operation” keeps popping up. I have performed a factory reset, but it did not solve the issue. I am simply connected to WIFI and have been ripping CDs from the ROSE CD player.

@Rocket
Hello

Currently, the same phenomenon as you are not appearing.
Please answer a few questions.

  1. Which Rose device are you using?

  2. Does this pop-up appear when you run a specific app?
Or does such a Pop-up appear even when not using it?

  3. How many times a day do these symptoms appear?

Thank you

I have same problem with my RS150B, too. It occurred when I switched to “Clock”.

RS150B and same problem like @MC485. Run Clock, restart dialog popped up…
