Kind regards,
Ruslan
Good evening @ESTM3,
I switched my HIFI Rose RS-520 to winter time this morning and it works perfectly.
Stupid question!
Do you also have the correct time zone (time zone in Tallinn, Estonia (GMT+2)…or does it not exist in the clock settings???
I read it as meaning that the time zone is not in the software.
But another thing/question… also to @ROSEHAN: Why do we have to change the clock at all???
Every cell phone updates itself automatically (clock) via the Internet. That gave me a headache on the very first day of setting it up, for a device that “heavy” is 3.5K.
My junk streamer from Technisat for 170€ in the garage even does that and I can still choose whether to update from FM, DAB+, or Internet (OK. RS 520 has no FM & DAB+ but Internet) and it works fantastically.
Greetings Bonte
If they would simply give us the ability to just choose an NTP Server, we would ge rid of that theater in Europe. Every half a year, we need to manually adjust Summer/Winter (or Normal) Time.
I had the correct time zone set, and it was again not working, so it was in spring. Boring, because all other devices do it without intervention.
@ESTM3
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
I checked and Estonia and Tallinn are GMT+2. Please set GMT+2 in Time zone settings. Also, set Daylight saving time to OFF.
We support WiFi, not Internet. Our device also does not have built-in GPS, so you have to set the time manually.
Hello @ROSEHAN,
I think we both misunderstood each other. What does WiFi have to do with (Internet time change)? WiFi is just wireless Internet, i.e. via radio. Your devices are connected to the Internet, in my case, my RS 520 is supplied with an Internet signal that is usable for end devices via a LAN cable from my router. The same thing happens with every cell phone (only wireless) in the world, or is it different in Korea??? (stupid joke).
My 170€ cheap streamer also has no GPS, just WiFi, not even a LAN connection, and it works perfectly.
I am a fan of… turning off all devices: In other words, I always turn my RS 520 completely off and have it connected to a good power switch strip (so… as if I pull the plug from the device out of the wall socket and I do the same with my cell phones (several that I don’t need)
If I turn these devices (for example my iPhone 15pro Max and my Samsung) back on and they get internet, they update the time immediately. Since I also have several Android phones and the Rose system is an “Andoid phone” that is on the table and has a little more built in, but is basically an Android phone on the software side, I don’t understand why my RS 520 doesn’t do it.
Here is an excerpt… there are thousands of them on the NET
Time change: The right settings on the smartphone
Smartphones are usually connected to the internet and therefore automatically switch to winter or summer time. This is already set correctly in the factory settings. However, it is possible that the function was deactivated by mistake. In these cases, proceed as follows:
Android: Select “Date and time” in the settings and activate “Set date and time automatically”.
Of course you are right that you have to set the correct data (time zone) & date and time automatically on the Rose XXXX, but then it should automatically switch to winter/summer time without me having to deactivate summer time in the settings. So all of my cell phones, tablets and my M3Pro Macbook Pro do that and Rose can’t do that??? Then let the Rose access NTP servers from Apple, Samsund or generally Android NTP servers.
Or install this app in the RoseStore, for example.
PS:
It doesn’t really bother me to change the settings on the device and turn off summer time, because everything works for me.
Stay healthy and don’t let it bother you!
Bonte
The reason with Summer and Winter Time is, to not change the setting manually.
I had it set to switzerland, and Daylight saving ON.
When the time switches, I expect that the Rose would check that the correct time needs to changed.
As Bonte said, just let the OS do it automatically, or let the user add their preffered NTP Service from Internet. they always know when it’s time to switch.
The only device to do that manual is my microwave
