I have never understood why some people get so upset about other people hearing a difference.
I’m not annoyed; on the contrary, I take my hat off to people who have good hearing.
But unfortunately, most people don’t want to understand that a lot of it is psychoacoustics.
Psychoacoustics examines the relationship between physical sound stimuli (sound events) and human perception (hearing events). It combines physiology and psychology to understand how sound waves are converted into subjective impressions such as loudness, pitch, roughness, sharpness, or fluctuation intensity.
And when your inner voice tells you that a $1,000 RCA cable “MUST” sound better to justify the $1,000 price tag, audiophile madness is born.

Exactly. Don’t know why these people who don’t hear a difference keep blah blah blah of their disabilities in this forum for audiophiles and won’t go away.

Yes, they say that imagination is also a form of education. Try to escape your matrix and start thinking realistically.
The first thing would be:
Don’t trust your ears and brain, they play the biggest tricks on you!
Then there are the sums of money you’ve spent on almost useless stuff that your “brain has to justify”… to make it sound better.
You can’t cheat physics on this planet, and praising your brain, ears, or expensive cables or switches is also a deception that your brain tricks you into believing or that you imagine.
Snake oil exists for sure , but yeah the obsession with other people’s spending is usually by people who don’t have the ability to buy, and have resentment - jealousy and envy. It’s usually the guy with the budget system that’s angry he can’t try the better stuff. Live and let live. Never seen a guy with Nagra electronics rail against someone for buying cables.
I can underline some of the statements in this YouTube video and have made my positive experiences when I tried to optimize my room for better acoustic.
So I got at the end a real „wowh“ effect f.e. for more accuracy, more room and more exactness of the singer position. I also underline that a excellent recording on a standard CD don‘t need highres audio. But I would prefer a highres record for an old album from the 60/70‘s.
I had also amazing positive experiences when I replaced all standard powerlines and power distributers (DIY parts ) with highend Lines and power distributer boxes. When you listening f.e. an acoustic guitar before and after replacement you will never go back.
Simular wowh effect you can get by replacing a 100-200€ cartridge with a highend MC cartridge of the turntable.
After a long experience ( more than 50 years) I think that some investments in highvalued equipment will offer you much more fun in listening music and relaxation by the way.
Of sure many things are psycho acoustic phenomemenons but if we have fun with our hobby why not?

Judging by your message, you improved the room acoustics using reference cables. Is that correct?
The room acoustics had been optimized by changing the listening and speaker position, improve ceiling and wall ( Front and back) and using
a room improving Software ( cara). Later by measuring with microfone and software REW (room EQ wizard ) with a result of adding into the room 4x bass traps. In the meanwhile I changed the loudspeaker cables for a twin amplifier solution.
Still enjoying your rs520? Have you had a chance yet to purchase a rs130 or rs151? I was able to use a rs520 on loan, frankly, wasnt impressed, came across as a budget item. I do however see how you would conclude that streamers dont make a difference using ones in the rs520 class - sound is not resolving enough to notice differences. Once you get to the rs130/151, Antipodes, etc., its a different level of product and sound.
Yes, but I use a T+A amplifier for the loudspeakers. I discovered a little bit better sound with bi-amping than with the RS520. It‘s not a big issue but

That makes sense. Thats what I would do if I had the rs520 - use it as a streamer. It does get you into the Rose ecosystem at a good price. I was never a fan of the Class D - I would probably buy a replica Dartzheel from Aliexpress instead. I had a ra180 at one point , didnt like the sound.
Its so cute when others are obsessed with other people’s money and spending that has nothing to do with them. Whether someone buys a million dollar watch that tells the same time as a $50.00 Casio, thats their business, you dont need to constantly criticize them. Live and let live . Its their money , they can spend it on how they like. And the true worth of anything, even assets with no underlying function like crypto coins, is what they resell for on the open market . So if theres a market , and people enjoy the game, theres no need to hate.

LOL you have time to write all that and get so riled up. Dont be so mad, its just a hobby. If someone wants to spend millions or thousands, its not your business, let them be. If you feel so strongly about , earn the money too and dont buy it. Dont be so envious and angry, its not good for your health. Youre system must not be very good if youre so worked up about something so trivial that doesn’t affect you at all. If your system was any good, you wouldn’t be so hostile for no reason - you’d be happy you have amazing music at your fingertips rather than worrying about what others do with their money! Nobody cares about your budget equipment other than you.Boris. Just be happy with it and leave it alone. Hating wont get you anywhere. Enjoy your entry level stuff and dont hate on others because they choose to buy flagship products. To each their own . No need for hate from either side. Nothing wrong with budget if thats where you are in life ,.and nothing wrong with enjoying elite pieces.
