Upgrading to RS151

Honestly, as a customer, I’m very happy with the low price for Hi-End. And the Chinese government’s policies are the manufacturers’ problems, not mine as a customer. As for the comparison, my opinion remains the Rose RS150B completely lost the duel with the EverSolo DMP-A10.

Currently, my main streamer is the DMP-A10, and I consider it number one in the sub-€10,000 class.

Wilk

The EverSolo DMP-A10 isn’t high-end; it’s, let’s say, mid-range equipment, and that’s an understatement, considering its sales figures and how many people buy these devices on forums.
What streamers have you listened to at home or in audio stores that cost 10,000 euros and were, for you, weaker than the Ever Solo? And did you compare them in the same configuration?
I’ve listened to several streamers in different configurations, and all of these devices were two classes better than the Ever Solo; there’s no point in even comparing them.
What’s more, you wrote that comparing devices costing 10,000 euros to the Ever Solo is ridiculous, and suddenly you think the Ever Solo is already a better device than this type of device for that price. Did you have a nightmare…

I don’t have nightmares. But I have a natural gift – perfect pitch and engineering knowledge – I’m an electronics engineer specializing in electronic circuits (45 years in the profession). And this is my personal assessment – the DMP-A10.

I consider it high-end – both in terms of construction, materials, parameters, and the final audio signal transfer, like the excellent EverSolo app. And we don’t care about the established opinions of obsessive testers who consider high price to be high-end.

I simply enjoy the beautiful sound and the affordable price.

Wolf,

You have about the best combination of skills and experience I can imagine to evaluate the Eversolo (or any other audio equipment). When you get the parameters adjusted, what is it that you hear that you don’t hear in other high end equipment? I know this is difficult but can you flesh out that opinion a little, please.

StandardModel

Boundary conditions: Tidal Master-Max Flack files at least 24 bit (even better at 96 or 192 kHz). A spatial image opens up with absolutely super-pure sound. All the details are revealed. Now I hear things I didn’t know before. I listen to my library (about 3,000 songs from Tidal) and rediscover them. There’s absolute tonal balance. And the very low bass is sometimes moving. My test setup for the past four years has been: a Luxman L-550AXII, a Chario Aviator Cielo, and a DirectStream Power Plant P12 current regenerator (which produces very clean current without any harmonics).

And now for other audiophiles, here’s the recipe for the DMP-A10 “Grandma from Little Red Riding Hood.” Set the following parameters: 1. Apply a filter - minimum phase fast roll-off. 2. Set the processing to a maximum of 384 kHz. 3. Dsp config/ identical for R and L channels, Dsp Gain 0.0 dB, Parametric EQ 31.5 to 4 dB, PEAK, the remaining frequencies on APF, Q everywhere on 1. The remaining FIR, HPF on linear. Loudness and Compressor off. 4. Graphic EQ settings: slight hearing correction / from 25 to 160 Hz / no subwoofer needed anymore. 5. Output level at about -25 dB.
And finally, “Grandma ate the Wolf”
p.s. the grandma in this fairy tale is EverSolo -

enjoy listening :grinning: :grinning:

I’m afraid the best feature for you with this player is its price, and that’s not good. For some, a Dacia might be a premium car, but that doesn’t mean it is, just because it’s a cheap car.

You have absolute pitch. Who told you that? What experience do you have with it? Do you play the violin or cello, for example? Because such musicians have absolute pitch. I hope you understand where that comes from. I play the guitar by ear, but the guitar. With the violin, it’s like comparing the Ever Solo to, say, a Lumin, Aurender, DCA, and other devices.

You wrote that the Ever Solo is the best device under €10,000. I asked what devices you listened to at that price, and whether you listened to them in audio stores as well as at home, that you wrote that? And if you haven’t listened to any streamers in that price range, then you’re kidding me, and you just wrote that.
Generally, I’ve noticed that when it suits you, you write that you’re looking at reviews, but when those same reviews put the Ever Solo in a rather low ranking, they’re already bad, because someone in them also defines what is and isn’t high-end. The Ever Solo isn’t. And remember, one thing: Chinese products will eventually rise in price, it’s only a matter of time, and then price won’t be a deciding factor for many when choosing a device. And today, the Chinese government subsidizes everything produced, which is why they outperform all manufacturers on price.

Incorrect assessments are Yours standard . I learned that I have absolute pitch during a scientific study in an “echo-free chamber” designed for audio research at the number one technical university (in my country of 40 million), during my university studies. As for Dacia and pricing, I happen to be well-off. I have two listening rooms at home with various high-end devices. And the high price isn’t a problem for me. And it’s also nice to buy something cheap that’s worth much more. What I’ve written isn’t based on reading this or any other review. It stems solely from my listening sessions and my extensive knowledge of electronics and audio systems.
But why are you criticizing me if you know nothing about me? Just don’t read it if you don’t like it, and don’t comment in a way that detaches from the truth.

This is probably my last post about you, because judging by what you’re writing, it makes no sense.

So, from the start, it’s great that you had excellent hearing 20-30 years ago. Congratulations. 30 years ago, I ran 3000m races in under 11 minutes   plus several other successes in sports, but not only that, I’ll repeat 30 years ago… Because that’s the difference you don’t understand.

As for being wealthy, I could write for hours here. There’s a saying that wealthy people don’t even talk about it publicly because it’s a matter of certain things and behaviors.

Instead of two listening rooms, I suggest you start listening to multiple devices, not at various music fairs, but in audio stores, or renting equipment with a deposit and listening at home (after all, it’s not a problem for you to pay a deposit for the equipment) to have a comparison and a reference to what’s available on the market. And don’t write outrageous stories about the top-of-the-line Ever Solo being the best device under €10,000, if you haven’t listened to any other streamers in audio stores or in your system.

You don’t realize how many €10,000 players there are that are clearly better than the Ever Solo in every respect, not counting the price, which is already underpriced because it’s subsidized by the Chinese government. But price can never be the main factor in evaluating equipment, cars, boats, watches, etc., because that’s ridiculous, that’s the reasoning.

And finally, regarding Dacia, because you misunderstood, Dacia, Renault, Citroen, Opel, Ford, etc., are the same in the automotive industry as Ever Solo, Rose, Cocktail Audio, etc., in the audio world. The only difference is that I’m reserved about it, and you aren’t. In your opinion, your player is the best in the world. I emphasize this for you, because it’s a big difference, as many people have different opinions on this matter. I suggest a much greater distance from what you have, it helps in life.

Listen, Puma, you completely misunderstand what I’m writing in my posts. You boast about your achievements to cover up the “emptiness” of your reasoning. I’ve always emphasized that what I’ve written is only my own assessment. I have no affiliation with any manufacturers or governments. I’m a free citizen, a European by heart and choice.

Again, you don’t understand the meaning of words. Wealthy is not the same as Rich. Dacia is in the lowest league in the automotive industry, and Rose and EverSolo only offer world-class technology in the DMP-A10. I bought the RS150B after they received a world award and after listening to it. The same thing happened with the EverSolo DMP-A10, which also received a world award. And Dacia, at best, gets flowers from sellers because it’s cheap and sells well. You know, I have no more topics to discuss with you.

Please don’t bring me up again. :joy:

Wolf,

Thanks for that. From an engineering quality of components and competence of design, I would have guessed that the sound would be very similar to the HiFi Rose products. I have speculated that differences are in the software which wouldn’t be as mature as that of HiFi Rose and as you point out, user settings. With Evesolo’s upgrades every ninety days it won’t take long to equalize that last component. A British Audiophile confirms that the Eversolo-T8 is a bit “cool” compared to other streamers.

That coolness can be easily “fixed”.
Still, IMHO HiFi Rose retains an advantage for people who like visual displays with their music. I like to watch the orchestra play while I listen, perhaps others do as well.

Thank you for sending the link to the T8 review. I listened carefully. From what I saw at the second largest audio trade show in Europe (after Munich) in Warsaw, and information from the manufacturer, the DMP-A10 has built-in, even more sophisticated interference reduction tools and even better two OCXO clocks (the gold ones). I’m sending you a photo I took at the trade show of the DMP-A10’s interior.
From an engineering perspective, it’s a masterpiece, and judging by the technical description at EverSolo, I have to respect the engineers from China.
According to the manufacturer, the DMP-A10 is positioned higher than the T8. Personally, I prefer complete devices, i.e., those with a built-in DAC. I try to minimize ground dispersion (negative) between devices, meaning ground interference elimination.

This way, from the XRL output of one streamer, a balanced signal goes into a single complete amplifier (mine is the reliable Luxman L-550AXII, pure class A). As for the Rose RS150B, I’m not selling it (I’ve moved it to my second listening setup). The Rose has a phenomenal display, and I sometimes enjoy watching the Rose Tube. The sound quality is also good, but for me, it’s definitely worse than the DMP-A10. If you’re feeling a bit colder, try adjusting the various filters on the T8. You might like one. After experimenting and technical analysis, I always prefer “minimum phase fast roll-off.” I have a suggestion for you. Try borrowing a DMP-A10 for your home for a few days. If you set the parameters as I already mentioned in the recipe for the DMP-A10 “Grandma from Little Red Riding Hood,” you might get better results than you’re currently getting with the T8 and a separate DAC. If you try this, share your opinion.
Being an audiophile isn’t easy, but it’s very interesting. :grinning:
Regards.

I don’t believe the T8 has a “sound” just as I don’t believe my 130 has a “sound.”

“Sound” is a mental SHORTCUT. It is, of course, the final sound effect generated by the modulated current-voltage response of the loudspeakers.
Now that’s precise.

I’ll respond again, because I can’t. You must be out of your mind, writing things like this: “…and Rose and Ever Solo offer world-class technology…” What world-class technology? Go listen to some decent players like the Aurender A 15, A 20, Lumin P1, X1 (and soon X2), Esoterica N01, or something from DCS like the Rossini, not to mention the Vivaldi transport + DAC combo. They have world-class solutions and they sound beautiful, unlike Ever Solo, where the sound is as cold as a Scandinavian winter, and the treble quality is not even mentioned when listening to Adele, W. Houston, C. Dione, T. Turner, and many other singers in three different systems with different electronics, speakers, and cables.

I’ll repeat once again: Ever Solo and Rose are to audio what Skoda, Renault, Opel, Citroën, Ford, etc. are to the automotive industry. You just need to have a little perspective on what you own and put in the effort to listen to other equipment at different levels in audio stores, in various shops, and in rooms designed for that purpose. Not by looking at equipment at Audio Shows and buying based on that, but by reading reviews.

And that’s all from me. It’s a shame to write this in vain. Tomorrow we’re flying off to Tanzania for vacation, so I’ll take a break from raving about this “wonderful and best-sounding Ever Solo in the world”  Joke of the month.

Then stay in Tanzania permanently and run around the savannah and get away from me. :hear_no_evil: :see_no_evil:

Wolf,

Thanks for those photos from the show. I haven’t heard the Eversolo T8 (I understand you don’t prefer separates) and I’d like to. It would seem to compete directly with the HiFi Rose RS 130 except for the display and the ability to project to a TV. I’d like to hear the RS 130 in combination with the DAC Z-10. That would compete with the RD-160. It would be interesting to hear those pairs of devices side by side. Their components appear to be nearly identical. In another post I’ve said that it looked like Eversolo bought an RS 130 and RD 160 and copied them except in several cases went up even more, i.e., the ladder volume control and better OCXO clocks.

This year, the “EISA PREMIUM STREAMER 2025-2026” award in the Hi-Fi category went to the Eversolo DMP-A10, while the Eversolo Play received the “EISA BEST VALUE STREAMING AMPLIFIER 2025-2026” award in the same category.

These awards were presented by a jury of approximately 20 experts, including editors-in-chief and senior editors from leading audio publications. This truly reflects the global voice of excellence in audio. And that concludes the topic.

BEST REGARDS

Being a perfect little consumer, you can buy inferior gear for more money, because it is “higher end”. It’s your money. But you don’t get to claim that “higher end” is in any way related to better sound, because it is not. Most of the time if there is a relationship, it is inverse.

Whiule dCS at least has some “technology” of their own (which is, quite provably, not any better than the others) if you believe that Aurender or Lumin offer any technology that EverSolo or Wiim do not have, you do make for a perfect little consumer they can sell anything to, but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Do you also believe that a Cadillac is of a higher quality than a Toyota?
