What are you spinning now?

:flushed: Ohh, I can’t say it sounds bad. Or maybe my ears are completely shot.

I compared it to Candy Dulfer and didn’t think it sounded any worse. But I’m still talking about the saxophone.

You know your stuff, VIK. Please give me another example I can compare it to.

Dear Bonte, you didn’t quite get me. I have no issues with the music itself, it’s прекрасна. What I’m talking about is the work of the recording engineer who pushed the tracks into clipping. On my system, these things literally start jumping out of the speakers. It’s recorded with distortions that are clearly audible. The music itself is great though.

There are many albums where, in my subjective opinion, the sound is tilted to one side, despite excellent musical performance. However, if it sounds good on your system, then everything is fine.

By the way, about the saxophone. Have you ever heard of Klaus Doldinger? The frontman of Passport, he’s from Berlin. A phenomenal musician, he wrote and played for many, worked with Curt Cress, Olaf Kübler, Udo Lindenberg, and the keyboardist Schulze. He also collaborated a lot with Mike Oldfield. The Germans basically composed and performed most of the repertoire for Maggie Reilly.

By the way, if you want something more energetic, I can share some PsyTrance with you. I’m not sure if it’s your thing or if you listen to that kind of music, but as a separate genre I’d highly recommend exploring it. It’s already becoming a classic within EDM.

I’ll send you my playlist, and I’ll also share a playlist called “Dreamescape”— it’s a nice chillout selection. Just take a couple of shots of cognac, light a cigar, and zone out, reminiscing about the good old times.

Things aren’t going very well in our country right now. I’m not trying to fool myself with optimistic forecasts — I think it’s only going to get worse.`

And finally, if you want to really get lost in sound, space, and unusual rhythms:

PsyChill / Psybient / Experimental

@Bonte and now you know why the wall fell.

@VIK , @Bonte

I do have to tease you guys.
The psychill reminds me of bad Sci-Fi sound tracks. And while I do like Kraftworks it makes me think of a Saturday Night Live sketch w Mike Meyers … Sprockets (Do you want to pet my monkey?)

Yes, I listened to them especially when I was doing a bit of hard core programming late at night.

But I’ve moved on…

Philippe Chrétien & Jeannot Steck - Eclipse - The Album is a bit more my speed now. but the recording of the sax … not the best in terms of mic placement unless you like a lot of reed ‘raspiness’ (not sure of the correct term) Overall still nice.

Yeah, you’re right, that’s exactly how it is. That’s why whoever was sitting at the mixing desk deserves to have their face smashed. :slightly_smiling_face:

Bonte won’t leave this without attention, I swear!!

Really, why are you even discussing music with someone who listens to Diana Krall and thinks that Iron Maiden wrote Tale of The Ancient Mariner?!

Okay, big words and VIK, your speakers really have to coax everything out of you. Which isn’t good either. Then my 80s stuff would sound awful too. Although, it does sound awful, compared to Pink Floyd, for example.

Speaking of which, Klaus Doldinger!

Anyone in Germany who doesn’t know him has never really listened to music or watched movies. The best film ever is Das Boot (U96).

A music project called U96 (founded by Alex Christensen and I think Ingo Hauss, and a few others) started in the early 90s. They’re also into techno. If we’re staying in that genre, Wolfgang Flür is also pretty good. U96 and Wolfgang Flür have also released joint projects.

Thanks for posting your playlists, and yes, I listen to psytrance now and then too.

Are you familiar with Ghost Rider (Vlad Krivoshein)?
I already have a song here that many YouTubers use when they present their speakers.

Thanks VIK for your answers and thanks Mikey for joining in.

Happy Easter to you both…:hatching_chick::v:t2:

PS:
Here’s a short compilation of the best songs from the soundtrack (Das Boot). It’s not badly done and is just under eight minutes long. You know I prefer longer tracks.

:joy:  :clap:t2: Yeah, I don’t understand that either. But I wanted to be “respectful” to Mikey.

Boris… you clearly yet again show your ignorance.

If you read my comment here… what I liked about Iron Maiden is that they wrote a heavy metal song based on the classic poem from
Samuel Taylor Coleridge

It showed that someone paid attention while in School

Clearly not only do you have a reading comprehension issue… you never paid attention in English class.

There’s nothing wrong w Dianna Krall.
Of course Bonte is stuck in German techno.

I mean back in the day I listened to the Cramps, Dead Milkmen, Dead Kennedys (which I still love Holiday in Cambodia … ) Yet I don’t listen them today.

Uh huh. Except that you have not heard about Coleridge in your entire life and laughed at people who did.

Not that anyone would expect you to comprehend even what you yourself post, let alone what other post.

In the same sense that there isn’t anything wrong with McDonald’s. But reasonably cultured people don’t go around boasting of their affection for pink slime.

Poor Boris flailing as usual.

Here’s how I discovered Iron Maiden.

I read the poem in my High School AP English class. Its a good poem, especially for guys.

When I was a freshman in the dorms… one of the guys in my dorm was into heavy metal. He was playing the song and when I heard it, I had to do a double take. Not something you’d expect to hear in a heavy metal song.

So no Boris. you’re dead wrong.

You just came here to pick a fight and continue to lose.

Can’t even keep your story straight? Not surprising.

Poor Boris.
I guess you went to the wrong public school.

Keep floundering Boris.

Also note: You can’t even keep on topic in your comments.

What turned me on to Iron Maiden was their use of the classics in their songs. It was Rime of the Ancient Mariner that was the first one I heard.

But then again Boris… you probably didn’t have friends in school did you?

Boris, see… you’re a troll.
You only come here to insult people.

We’re done Boris.

I am a classic rock and roll man. But I have been expanding into jazz and classical music, also blues and R&B. Not a big fan of the techno stuff or hip-hop. I have not posted on this thread because the stuff I listen to is not current and people here would be like “been there, done that.”
