[Early Access Version Release - Updates and Improvements]

Important Note: This update is an Early Access version and applies only to the RS130 model. The official service update will be released later, so please use this version with caution.

Update Date: 4th September, 2024 (Wed) 02:00 PM (GMT +9)

Device Compatibility Version Information: SW Ver. V5.6 (Early Access)
Update Version Information:

  • RoseOS(SW): V5.6.02 (Early Access)

Update Method:

  • RoseOS: Rose Device > Settings > System Information > Enable Early Access Update > Select “Update” and proceed with system update.
    Note: When proceeding with the SW update from the official service (Official) version to Early Access, “Factory Reset” will be performed. All previously set information will be reset, so please be careful.

Has anyone tried this 5.6.02 EA to confirm the DAC connection via USB Hub is improved ?

I have and it is.

I had a worrying moment during the installation where it stopped during the Android Updating phase. I switched it off and back on again and it proceeded to completion and all seems to work well.

One interesting improvement which isn’t mentioned above, in both the inbuilt player and Roon, is that the screen now shows the album title as well as the track title and artist name.

I installed the version this evening and was able to connect to the DAC. In short, there is no problem at the moment.

Hi there! I have a Daniel Hertz Maria 350 with an internal DAC. The connection chip in the Maria 350 amp is from XMOS, but even with OS 5.6.02 the USB connection doesn’t work (nor do the other USB outputs of the RS130!). My Rose 130 finds the XMOS USB 2.0 in the USB port, but music won’t play! The wheel on the Rose display turns endlessly. One thing I can tell you is that if I use Roon Raat with the USB connection to my Maria amp, it works!

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Please check a few things.

  1. Have you tried connecting the Daniel Hertz Maria 350 to the RS130 via USB, going into the input/output settings on the RS130, and pressing USB out to enable it?
  2. Even after rolling back the RS130 version to the official version rather than the EA version, does the RS130 not recognize the Daniel Hertz Maria 350?
    RS130–>Settings–>System info–>Use the office update version–>Roll back
  3. Does your RS130 not recognize the Daniel Hertz Maria 350 even if you use a different USB cable?
  4. If you connect a USB external hard drive to the USB port on the rear of your RS130, does the RS130 recognize the USB external hard drive?

1.) Yes I have done this and the XMOS USB Audio 2.0 was shown!
2.) I have done this, but it still doesn’t work
3.) Yes I have tried different cables - not working!
4.) Yes that works!

Strange is, that the USB Audio output of the RS130 works with Roon!
Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, and the internal Rose Player don’t work with USB and the wheel on the Rose display turns endlessly!

Lastly, the RS130 rear has several USB ports. Is the Daniel Hertz Maria 350 DAC not recognized by all USB ports?

The second USB input on the Maria amp is for programming of the internal DSP (Mighty Cat chip) only and is not an audio input. The fault is in the software Rose RS130! WHY DOES IT WORK WITH ROON?? Can you explain this?

The very welcome improved scan speed was included in EA 5.4 three and a half months ago. Hopefully there will be more from the new database model.

I guess I’ll find out tomorrow.
