Tidal Connect Support?

I have to agree with the requests for the past few years that Hifi Rose incorporate Airplay II, or at least fix Airplay which is so broken with skips and stutters it’s unusable, as well as incorporate Tidal Connect. The Hifi Rose app for Tidal is pretty bad.

Sound quality of the Hifi Rose 250ra is superb, no issues there, love it for that.

I’ve decided to sell my Hifi Rose because I can’t do the two simple things other inexpensive streamers can do very well.

Cheers,
Anthony

I am really surprised that HiFi Rose have not provided an update on the implementation of Tidal Connect as it is one of the most talked about missing functions.

Tidal in the HiFi Rose app is pretty basic compared to other manufacturer’s and doesn’t fit well with such an expensive piece of equipment.

I agree, Tidal interface on HiFi Rose is very limited, and somewhat convoluted, Tidal does a great job in categorizing music, not sure why the limitation on HiFi Rose software. Too bad, such a great sounding product, such basic implementation of the User Interface.

I sold a really nice Simaudio 280D to switch to the 250ra, not saying it was an upgrade honestly, the Simaudio had a great interface and a seamless Tidal Connect.

@michaelweening

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We are working hard to support Tidal Connect. However, Tidal does not provide any help. We have to solve that problem ourselves. Please understand even if it takes time.

Well if I’m not mistaken it’s the first time Rose mentions they are actively working on tidal connect, which is a great news. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long.

Like many, I think this is the most expected feature for the Rose streamers. Can we get some details ? Is the plan to support it on all models ?

What are the problems you are facing ? Maybe there are people with connections at Tidal who could help ?

Please consider adding Tidal Connect. People buy the Hifi Rose to listen to Hifi audio, which means the majority of your users are using Tidal. Every other source can be controlled through the native app except Tidal, which seems odd given the audience. Adding Tidal Connect would allow users to use the native Tidal app, which everyone here would prefer. No one bought the Rose for the app. Please focus on hardware and integrate with native apps to provide the best of both worlds.

I come from an Eversolo and sold it, because of the buggy software. I consider to buy the RS130, but without Tidal Connect and Apple AirPlay II I see no investment of 5 K €. Without streaming Tidal Connect and other streaming services like SoundCloud, 5 K€ are not appropriate. Hope you will improve this. Then I buy one.

@MM07

We’re working hard to support Tidal Connect and Apple AirPlay 2. It is difficult to answer with certainty that it will be added in the future.

Hello! I know when Rose Add Tidal Connect to their poducts!
NEVER!
They are lazy as …k. Cambridge, Marantz, Nuprime, Lumin add this to their old product.
Cheap products as Wiim for 100-300 usd had Tideal Connect. They are lazy and laughing that you buy your rose RS250A for 2,500 usd and still has no TC.
Very poor software update.

I have waited and waited for this. Surely when they decided on Android they would have considered users want this.
I wonder how many customers they lose by not supporting this.
In 2024 it really is a basic function and should be sorted out ASAP.

@ROSEHAN any updates on Tidal Connect?

For crying OUT LOUD @ROSEHAN@ROSELOA this is insane. Tidal Connect. I have had to add a Bluesound NodeX to my system via optical when I want to include the HiFi Rose into my home sound distribution. How is it possible that this “audio” centric system has not got around to adding such a BASIC function? I am half a mind to go and grab a NAD M66 as a DAC and replace this system once and for all. Seriously. How can you not listen to your customers here? If this is “premium” then how can you not fix this? Such nonsense. “It is hard” is just BS and insulting. I have just ranked Roseconnect as 1 star on the App Store (would give it 0 if I could). If you are “premium” then LISTEN AND FIX IT. Don’t get me started on Apple Airplay II … stop lagging.

@Roseken

There are far more "premium’ (or at least expensive) devices out there ghat don’t have Tidal Connect support either, and likely never will, at least until someone at Tidal manages to release a usable SDK for it.

Would be nice to have, if one uses Tidal, but I wouldn’t quite hold my breath for it, it’s quite non-trivial.

I work in technology. It is not that it is “non trivial”
… it is that that HiFi Rose isn’t listening and doing the work.

If they are not up to the task, perhaps they should throw in the towel and realize they cant hack software and make pretty boxes - by adopting BlueOS.

I have a node X piping in via optical.

Btw. My Sonos Faber Amati G5s and McIntosh 12000 sound fantastic and the HiFi Rose makes a nice … if expensive … visual adornment with the blue power gauges.

When the new Bluesound Node comes out in November … this thing goes up for sale.

The one nice thing about technology? Faster, better, easier to access, happens every 6 months in waves. This is a DAC. It is all about the chip and the software …

Myopic. Wake your team up @ROSEHAN

You are more than welcome to grab Tidal’s SDK and implement it, if it is that easy…

That said, other than no support for higher resolutions (not particularly useful anyway), BluOS is far more featured and mature than Rose’s software. But then Lenbrook likely has more developers working on it than Rose has employees altogether.

Of all the things Rose should be working on, like stabilizing RoseOS operation, making file scanning work at least as quickly as you could get on a 20 years old PocketPC, and fixing bugs, adding another way to do something that is already possible (and allowing your babysitter to blow out your speakers, to which there are multiple reports, because Connect is a bad idea to begin with) should, IMO, take very low priority.

Rose RS250A sold, DMP-A8 solved all problems.
Good Bye

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out :slight_smile:
And why not the A6?

Amazing @ROSEHAN @ROSELOA … … Eversolo has Tidal Connect and they run Android. I guess they are just better at software? Time to send some of your developers to Android coding camp to learn how to get to done as the BULL of “We don’t have and SDK” just got proven as what it is … complete and utter bull?
