I agree everything is always aoon. HIFi ROSE has released their new dac and I can’t help wonder if HiFi Rose do not realise how their sales would be affected because of the issues with their streaming devices.
There is no doubt they will loose trust with existing customers no matter how good their other products might be.
I have the RS130 and as much as I like the looks and the sound it is becoming far too annoying as a user. HiFi Rose need to sort out the bugs and improve the user interface or just allow customers to connect easily using other clients with ease. Like tidal connect roon HQ player etc.
Hifi Rose can make this happen and I strongly suggest you do for your R&D as you are doing yourself a disservice as well as your customers. If cheaper units like blue sound can update so quickly then look at how they are able to do so. Maybe you should scale back the protocols and give customers the option to remove all unnecessary apps (like rose tube) in order for other more important functions to be introduced.
Surely user experience and music quality is priority.
HIFI ROSE PLEASE DO SOMETHING its your business too.
Dear Rose, Can you let me know if you will update your product to allow Tidal Connect please?
I have a 150b, which sounds lovely. With no Tidal Connect, it is very difficult to enjoy the product fully.
Many thanks
Hi BL50000,
Do you not use Tidal through the Rose Connect app ?
I can do this but there are several reasons it does not suit the way I like to sit and enjoy listening.
- The Rose app is only on my iPad, there is no app that I can find for my MacBook computer. I use the computer when listening because in practice, I am usually working in parallel with listening.
- the Rose app does not appear to have the features of the Tidal app (or the Spotify App when I was using that), such as:
- seeing a list of now and next, when playing from a playlist (all I can see is alternative tracks in the style of the same aritist)
- managing playlists and adding new playlists simply
It appears that the Rose software strategy is to create a unified remote control app, capable of removing the need for other apps. It would be simpler if the music streaming apps could be used as they intend.
I tried Spotify - the best for simplicity and use but does not (yet) have the quality that Qobuz & Tidal offer. I do not consider myself particularly discerning and my HiFi is not particularly high end.
I tried YouTube - great to see the videos but the audio quality is not there, although this may be the way I “stream” from the computer to the Rose.
Rose tube - Great feature, absolutely love this but too fiddly to use from the Rose app, for me to just sit back and relax.
