Are we complaining too harshly about HiFi Rose products

Reassure me:
Does the RS130 read all the tags on FLAC music tracks with pre-recorded tags?

domrol,

“all” is a very encompassing word. I’m not sure about all but the main ones, yes.

StandardModel

Thank you, StandardModel.
The most important ones for me are:

  1. the musical genre recorded in the tag
  2. the number and the track name
  3. the album name
  4. the composer’s name
  5. the artist’s name
  6. the album photo

Are all these tags for a FLAC track read by the Hifi Rose RS130?
Thank you for your answers.

domrol,

I’m away from my RS 130 and can’t answer your questions precisely.

StandardModel

ABSOLUTELY! All the complaining that goes on here is negatively impacting the reputation of the brand. The products are not perfect; what product is? The HiFI Rose products I have auditioned, all sounded very good when compared against similarly priced competitors. Anyone reading these these forums would think that the products absolutely suck and that’s not the case at all.

People here are beating the same dead horse week after week. If I want to listen to people piss and moan, I’ll watch FOX News. The only reason I come here is to see if there is anything I absolutely need to know about the HiFI Rose product I own. It’s a shame because this forum could be an asset and instead it’s much less than that.

I’ve been actively participating for over a year. I’ve noticed that many community members are now sharing experiences, suggestions, to-be-considered ← members like @StandardModel, @HMANAZ, @PatriceP, @Bicycle @TomT, and more. As an example see:

Also click the RS130 - HiFi ROSE function & the RD160 - HiFi ROSE function, on the Commnity Home page, for a list of great topics ← take note of the #of viewers and the #of replies (many people are truly participating)

BTW, most people have ban the trollers (especially Boris); hence, a lot of foolish trolling have drastically reduce.

I encourage you to share your HiFi Rose product experiences ← many community members will appreciate your wisdom (being your a 2+ year owner).

Thank you for the thoughtful post. I still own my RS130, and bought a RS151 recently . I did acquire other pieces like a esoteric N-05xd and Accuphase e700 which im happy with. But I use Rosetube everyday.

The main reason I dont participate anymore is because Hifi Rose’s failure to enforce community safety guidelines. I dont want to support an environment or company where new users can be insulted or disparaged without the company doing anything to stop it. I believe there are many great people here like Tom, yourself, and the others you nentioned, who could be a moderator, but if Hifi Rose is not willing, I cannot participate in such an environment.

I know personally that’s the reason for many users who could have been great contributors refusing to further participate in this type of unregulated and unprofessional environment. If we complain to the dealers and tell them how the company permits a toxic website culture where crude and vulgar language is used with the company’s knowledge, perhaps that could make things change .

Just to let you know: I have not seen any trolling for a few consecutive months. I think, enough community members banned the trolls; thus stopping the trolling.

There’s still a few owners who are frustrated because they are not use to the RoseConnect Premium app’s user interface; but that too has reduced because of the HiFi Rose software improvements and the many useful/guiding Community Topics like RS130 User Interface.

BTW, Just my curiosity: Why did you decide to buy an RS151? What are the key RS151 benefits?

Its still in the box, ive been too busy to start the project. but i heard the rs151 is comparable in sound to the rs130-rd160 sound , which i really loved. So it was appealing to have that in one box and half the cost. I will report back once its unboxed and tested.

I know perfectly how the Rose Connect Premium app works and I am a bit frustrated, yes, because, when playing Qobuz, my RS150B sometimes skips to the next track. This issue was reported in past April by other user and, in my case, it is happenning since past November. Rose has been unable to fix it until now.

Many users report daily more serious problems than mine and I do understand they are angry. To say "this does not happen to me " is of little help for them. It would be different if someone, having had exactly the some problem in the past, was able to solve it and explains how he did it.

Totally agreed with @Bicycle. I also seldom participate these days because of the same reason. HiFi Rose don’t care about our feelings at all because they don’t even say a word responding to the fact we raised.

Hello everyone,
I also agree with @Bicycle. Some people (including a well-known one) have discouraged me from visiting the website, and especially from posting on this forum. There’s no point repeating what has been said many times about trolling…
Otherwise, I quite agree that we’re being too harsh with Hifi Rose. I’m more than satisfied with my RS130 and RD160; the combo is really good. Sure, the software may not live up to our expectations, but it’s no better elsewhere with other brands.
I use Roon to discover new tracks or listen to Roon playlists, but I mostly use Rose Connect because I find the sound slightly better on Roon for my Tidal and Qobuz playlists (I have both subscriptions).
Thank you to everyone who posts here with respect and friendliness.

Regarding to @joyofmvid topic: “Are we complaining too harshly about HiFi Rose products (and staff)” my answer is no, we are not.

For instance, @Magic who 16 hours ago reported a hardware display issue of the RD160 he just received. And he addressed the issue to @Rosehan for an advice.

I saw Rosehan replying to other posts during the day but didn’t respond a word to Magic at all. If you were Magic, how would you feel ? Do you think we are complaining too harshly ? No, I don’t.

Edit: this is not a single incidence. I saw many similar cases before and I experienced the same situation once or twice.

I totally agree with @TomT. @ROSEHAN answers when she wants and too many times with the “universal” solution of resetting the device.

Hifi Rose really needs to think about how they are handling their online presence and customer support. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to summarize all the issues and post on well known audio websites with my evidence sharing our truthful accounts and opinions . This will undoubtedly affect their brand perception, but it has unfortunately come to that. Principle is more important than material goods.

Totally agree with TomT and Alberto.

If we got a working software we will probably less complaining.

I totally agree with everyones reply posts.

@ROSEHAN The Community Members that replied, on this topic, are right. There are three CRITICAL ISSUES that need to be addressed by HiFi Rose:

  1. Moderators of this community needs to be strict with members who are TROLLS and especially strict on members who are insulting others at a personal level ← these people are discouraging our informative/great Community Members from continuing to participate. At this rate, in time, all participation may halt. ← @ROSEHAN please notify the appropriate manager of this crtical concern.

  2. It is highly recommended that tickets be created for every issue reported to the HiFi Rose development team. ← @ROSEHAN, @ROSELOA,… please report this request to the HiFi Rose development management. The list of outstanding (not yet fixed) Tickets to be accessible via this community. On this list, show the ticket#, originator’s member id, date opened, type of problem (e.g., interconnect, UIF, RadioFM,…), ticket title & status (open, in progress, closed, cancelled)

  3. In 2023 & early 2024, the Scan/Rescan functions were the loudest outcry by the community members. Currently in 2025, the loudest outcry is the above #1 critical issue and the poorly designed unintuitive user interface software. In 2024, HiFi Rose redesigned & redeveloped the scan/rescan functions ← this solved the 2023 outcry. @ROSEHAN, @ROSELOA,… please speak to HiFi Rose high-level development management ← let them know about the UIF software design outcry (it’s time that the HiFi Rose UIF be redesigned/redevolped from scratch for simpler, consistent, intuitive user interactions. Also for this redesign, consider changing the Operating System to a Linux & Android V14 combination ← this will improve development efforts. The new media server User Interface to be metadata tag centric, and support all music media types/tags including Album Artists, Playlists, Genres, etc plus support bitstreamining multi-channel & spatial audio on HDMI. Lastly, support DLNA/UPDP Samba NAS access.

Note: For an example of a simple intuitive user interface, see FYC: Ideas for future User Interface Upgrades

Note: Also see Benefits of RS130 User Interface Software ← preserve these benifits in the new UIF.

I found now Hifi Rose is censoring and moderating post if it speak badly about them. I guess their sales are affected by all the bad online press.

I guess we should all write tough, critical posts about Hifi Rose management until they appoint a decent moderator on the forum , someone we can trust like Tom.
