[Official] SW Ver 5.9 (Rose OS 5.9.07) Software Release

I was experiencing these exact scenarios and another where my Home Screen icons would appear out of order every time I woke the 130 after the update. Yesterday I decided to execute a factory reset and so far my issues seem to be resolved. I have not been experiencing the degradation in sound quality that others are enduring.

Personally, I never rush into updates; I wait to see what others think.

Every time I turn on my RS130, I’m annoyed by a window that pops up asking me to update, with the cursor positioned on OK.
This is very risky, and one wrong move could launch this wild update.
So, I configured my Logitech Harmony Elite remote to remove this prompt at startup and prevent me from making any false moves that might trigger the update.

We need to know fir sure what had happened first.

If you buy a McIntosh or Benchmark, maybe. But those are established luxury companies who do their own design. Rose is off-the-shelf parts held together by a bit of custom software with little appreciation for software development and deployment lifecycle. Although Bluesound does provide much better support for their decidedly consumer-level product lines.

But at this point it should not be a revelation that while Rose can assemble a good looking and generally workable product from generic parts, there’s nobody there who knows how to do software engineering properly (and yes, one part of it is how to do proper testing, and not to release anything to production before leaving for a weekend).

It worked, I have a version 5.8 and the sound seems to be in order

For me it’s very good.

You must also load the EA Rose Application

This anticipated version released in April 2025 was validated by the official version in June 2025 which is called 5.9

The EA version has for example Qobuz Connect

It must correspond to what we are looking for

Dear Sir,

Even companies that sell home printers, which cost thousands of dollars less than an RS151, offer 24-hour technical support, and if you have a registered product, a knowledgeable person who speaks your language will even call you on your cell phone. Don’t underestimate people; not everyone has your knowledge. In my particular case, I reset the factory settings and reconfigured the RS151, and the audio still sucks.

Roll back to the early access version, just keep doing something instead of whining…

Dear Sir.

I have no idea where to get the previous version, and I have no idea how to do the procedure either. The people at Rose should take it upon themselves to help their customers, don’t you think? I wouldn’t go back to the previous version even if I were drunk. Who knows what disaster could happen? We have no idea if there’ll be any residue left from the garbage version I have now.

I’m also sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing after the latest update and I hope you get them sorted quickly and to your satisfaction.

Contrary to what you said about USA brands, may I remind you about the now infamous Sonos software update in May, 2024 which resulted in a massive drop in its stock price and the ultimate firing of the CEO. Despite subsequent platitudes and BS from Sonos to their customers, the problems and the arrogance of the company still remain.

FYI - my RS520 is performing flawlessly after the update.

I’ve tried what you’re saying, and for some reason it doesn’t work. It just keeps thinking and nothing happens. You think I’m going to spend so much time complaining if I haven’t exhausted all the possibilities? Your wife and mother are complaining that I wasn’t with them this weekend because I messed around with the RS151.
